Taking the kids out to a park today, and spotted somthing in the bushes. Took a closer look and was surprised to find........ A Mk2 Raleigh Chopper. Its taken a beating, but the frame looks sound enough.

Guess this would be better off in the Readers other mods page.
Amazing what you can find , just keeping your eyes open.
Easy resto.... Ebay, = Cash.

May be worth letting the local plod know you have it and give them any serial numbers or stamped post code (usually under the crank) as it 'may' have been stolen before you found it.

yeah if I find a bike thats abandoned I take it to the Police lost property Unless its one of my bikes that the local neds have stolen from my yard. what bits do you need anyway. are you gonna build it up as standard or are you gonna make it look like a 70s chopper?

Ok Called the 5-0 - They had no interest to be honest. I even sent them an e-mail to back it up that I had actually logged it. Ive stripped some of the bike back and will need: Sissy bars Saddle Handlebars Grips Chain guard Front mud guard don't mind original Mk3 parts, or old parts. Also don't mind if anyone has custom parts that I could use? Suggestions please?

My advice would be to check ou www.ridelow.co.uk as they have all the bits you would need. Or if you have a bit more time on your hands you could buy a bratz beauty bike for £20 off eBay, you could then nick all the bits off it you want and sell the rest of the bits off on eBay as lowrider spares and make a profit out of it. Afterall that's what Bratz bikes are. ;D

Sissybars off an early chopper wont fit I don't think, and handlebars from a mk1 are probably expensive. The mk2 has the handlebars permanantly attached to the stem, and I don't think they will fit either. You are pretty much looking at original Raleigh mk3 parts for that. Hows the gear shifter working? I know that the gripshift can be a bit rubbish at the best of times.
Sorry to say it but after riding the mk3 I wasnt impressed, however I do have a mk2 and they are wonderful!

i was looking at youtube and a man put a mk2 chopper seat and sissy bar on a mk3. he put copper pipe in the rear frame to make up the different thickness.
