there's a LOT of lada going on there, but knowing the eastern blocs interchangeability thats no surprise. FSO is a good guess, but I'm gonna add Moskvitch to the pot.

You're all kinda right - it is Lada based.
From what I have been told, it is a 'special' not a kit car. I don't know much more info than that at the moment (apart from the make/model)
I think the owner might be in the market for selling it - if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get some more details.

Jeez that's ugly! Like the deformed lovechild of a golf cart and a Lada Riva. Interested to find out more about it - I don't understand the difference between a special and a kit (unless it means that it is the only one of its kind?) Nice find!

I don't understand the difference between a special and a kit (unless it means that it is the only one of its kind?) A special is where a company takes a base car and manufactures a new car out of it - in this case the floorpan & running gear are 'supplied' and the car is then made from this in the 'factory' (more likely a large workshop) following a production line & build of sorts A kit-car is where a bodyshell and box of bits are supplied to a customer to convert an existing donor car. I'm not 100% but I am led to believe that this is unregistered straight from the factory - hence the delivery miles! Every time I see the pics I want it just that little bit more. It really is one of those cars that is just SOOOOOO bad looking that it can only be cool. I'm really tempted to find out if the guy is willing to sell it.

The perverse side of me thinks that's wonderful.
The rational side thinks it's awful and should be blown up by the Lada tank.
Currently the perverse side's winning!

Behold - it's a EuroStar! "Bohse" built 35 of those in 1990 before they went pop, due to costing far too much I suppose. There's two on "mobile.de" (german "auto trader"), a red one and a white one, which are both about 5000€(!) IIRC, both in good condition+low mileage. As one of them is classified as "Lada 1200", I'm sure that's what it's based on. I have a sof spot for such Buggy-like cars, especially the odd ones. Loving the wheels of that one above, too. Plus it's RWD, and there's lots of ways to get more power out of it (including 2000cc DOHC Fiat engines), and it should be pretty light, too!! And those T-Roofs creating something like this and hoping someone would actually buy it (there's always an idiot, but 35 at a time? not bad) demands a whole new level of stupidity.

And for more information (in German!), look at: www.cabrionews.de/leser/bohse.phpFrom Google translation: "Bohse by Christoph from Munich. A cult car of the special nature of an original Soviet Lada 1200 (VAZ 2104) based Bohse Eurostar. It is for this car to the object of desire of a small car manufacturer in the Emsland, in the late 80s, the best-Dasign Lada-Tuning in Cabriobau tried. This is the company will probably also have gone into bankruptcy: It is calculated simply not a cheap car in an expensive handmade Convertible umzufunktionieren. Happy can appreciate who is one of possibly 35 owner of such vehicle is: Flirt Factor 500th I started with this car yet each time at the traffic lights next to me new people. From questions on the theme "What's that for a car, how fast is it? How much is it?" to slips with mobile phone numbers ( "Call me at times."), everything was represented. However, you should not faster than about 120 km / h Drive: From this starting speed is limited by the lateral wind-passage through the doorways off the rear floor mats and under the front seats forward through it to float. And lusty, one should also be: you can still see the front with a small Hüftaufschwung on the curb once owned." So ... unsafe, slow, but lusty and attractive to the opposite sex

Congratulations - you win the prize of a Virtual Beer ;D ;D It is indeed a Bohse EuroStar. I knew someone on here would get it. I have just spoken to my mate who owns the garage. He's going to find out from the owner if he is willing to sell it so if anyone is interested in owning something uber rare (proper rare, not 'eBay rare ) raise your hands now. I can confirm that it is unregistered, brand new on delivery miles.....there is an electrical problem at the moment (loose connection somewhere) hence why it is at the garage, but as soon as it is up & running I'll try and get a video of the thing in action.
