Instead of wasting other members' time, why not actually pass your driving test before making 100's of dream threads like you did on OCuK? Come along now chap, the thread wouldn't have gotten this far if other members weren't willing to participate. Keep in mind its not just for yantorsen's benefit, any young retro lover may well get all manner of ideas from this thread

The Triumph Dolomite/Toledo hasn't had much of a mention. Cheap to buy, easy to work on, British of course, rwd, come with a variety of engines, 1300 58hp, 1500 71hp, 1850 90hp and the 2 litre Sprint with 127hp and if you join the Triumph Dolomite club for about £26 it will entitle you to the young drivers scheme Footman James have for under 21 year olds. Although the Sprint is too high an insurance group for that scheme I think... For my 1500HL it brought it down to about £400 when I was 19. The 1300 and 1500's have square head lights and the 1500HL, 1850HL and Sprint had 4 round ones. Other than that theres no real differences between all the shells. They are so cheap its awesome Here is my mates £100 1300 Dolly Not quick by modern standards with 60 coming up in about 17 seconds as standard but such fun to drive it really doesn't feel that slow atall. This is my Dolomite, bought as a 1500HL with MOT and tax for £450, lusted after a bit more oooomph and put it to Sprint spec (2 litre 16 valve) with lowering shocks, poly bushes, big brake kit and some other small tweaks to make a really fun car that really is quick by modern standards, timed mine at 7.8 to 60 Looks like sex too And sounds angry Omg I was going to sell that car but now I can't! Anyway a £1000 would get you a real nice 1850HL which is no slouch, 100mph and 0-60 in 11.4. And what's nice to know is the TR7 engine is just a 2 litre version of the 1850 engine with bigger carbs. My first car was a Dolomite 1850HL, when the engine went pop I bought 2 TR7 engines for £40 and fitted one of them. £20 engine swap TR7 engines are 105hp so a nice little power increase with no fabrication or jiggery pockery needed. 4 seats, incredibly comfortable car, tidy sized boot, cheap to buy, cheap and easy to tune, the potential for real cheap insurance. Do we have a winner?

Hi Sir, you appear to have been offended by the thread, the correct procceedure on these boards is to contact a moderator. It would seem that the time you spent creating an account to ignite a flame war has been wasted, so I suggest you go back to OcUK and post your unwanted rubbish there. Good day
