hi grizz, I was the mate you can't remember with nightmaresracing. we met briefly when oldbus was over with the capri. the datsun pick up was so cute and had never done a days work in its life, better than a vicers wifes car, only used on sundays. brought a lump to the throat and by the sound of Hotwire, the trousers. dirty boy, in your box! see you at wheels day? I'd like to think I'll have a new car by then, got my eye on a 100E with a 2lt pinto. nice to meet you, see you soon cheers, Ged Hi Ged, I could remember the Evil bit, but just could not pull it out of my helmet when I got back in, and I seem to recall you drove a van that had never been thrashed in all its life the day Oldbus traded cars with Mark. Anyhow, nice to see you there today as well. Ah, would that be the lovely blue transit connect? still waiting for the engine mount that never got picked up at MOT to drop the engine on the road one day, still, serves a purpose and costs me curse word all. happy days. |

Last year, this was Nicola and my first romantic date , we got to meet Briandamaged.... That will go down in history as the first time anyone's mentioned my name and 'romantic date' in the same sentence. Shame I couldn't make it this year, as it's a great way to spend a Sunday. Ohh and tattoedwhitetrash? That's not Doris. I've ridden in Doris. Erm....naked.  ;D |

Sorry we missed you Grizz. Was a real good meet, bigger than I'd seen it before. Coolest thing I saw during our walk round was this set of gennie 16" magnesium Halibrands complete with ever-so cool tyres.   You didnt see the tube axle with lovely patina black magnesium spindle mounts then  Wasnt going to go but ended up going with some mates. Didnt know folk were going. Saw the woodie MK1, should have poped over and said hi but we were leaving. |

I saw while I was there kevfromwales, bodie&doyle(who I wandered round with), spacekadett, nightmares, evilged, seth and family, and a few other retro-riders whose names elude me at the moment  sorry special thanks though to kev for letting me try(and fail  ) to sell my twin turbo set up on his stall and helping me lug them into the arena and dropping them back off at my car for me at the end ;D as usual the nsra swapmeet provides ;D I managed to find a fibreglass bootlid with ducktail for my mk1 capri 2 brand new unused mk3 capri wings 2 bilstein threaded tube coilover bodies with strengthening plates (no springs, no shocks, no hub, etc. thats ok got some of those at home ;D) a pair of funky metal things which attach the springs to the rear axle and apparently stop the springs binding up under hard launching 3 pairs of 2 1/4 coil-over springs(to go in my collection  ) and some 3mm alloy plate to make a sump guard with and the best thing of all? i still had quite a bit of cash left at the end of the day ;D ;D |

Rare as rockinghorse poo then! ;D BTW, Twin turbo set-up for...... what? nah norm not the rarer than hen's teeth original ford wings these were pattern ones which had never been used and I picked both up for less than I could have bought(and have in the past) one for from somewhere that stocks panels ;D the twin turbos in question are my rover v8 janspeed tt set up which I need to sell as i've moved on from rover v8's and they need to go to fund current projects |

TB - he's after 750 or offers - I know cos they were on my stand all day!!
had a manic weekend - managed to screw up collecting my prairie off will datman, and dropping off oldbus' x flow with grizz (both now sorted - I think!) - but apart from those 2, everything else went super smooth!
nice to see various people, J69 (top man for alloy carrying duties!), rolandcad500 (top host for the weekend) nightmares racing, klunk, various rodders, seff, mrs seff and baby seff (who I think wanted my prefect wendyhouse a teeny tiny bit!!), richy246 who had the rest of the bits for his '32 project (sorry bout the sump mate!) bruisercapri (sorry I didn't sell ya turbots) and last but not least B&D Ed, who brought me some nice headers, which I promptly passed to someone else!
bargain of the day was a toss up between the set of 4 7 x 14" 114.3 wolfies - for 25 quid! - or the pair of 13" fiat slots which the chap had bought for 80 quid as 95.25 pcd - mine for 15 quid!!
see ya'all next year I reckon, with better organisation, a trailer, and a proper RR hospitality suite!!
