Excellent! Ive had a couple of fezzas and really enjoyed owning them.
A pal of mine had one similar to yours as a first car back in 1997, same colour too. It was a D reg and went really well. Unfortunately the body rotted at a rate of knots. One day we opened the bonnet and the whole front end fell off!
He had a few other cars after than but decided to get another mk2 fezza as he liked his first one so much. He bought a real shed for £175 and started to do it up. Again same colour as yours! We replaced loads of parts, bonnet, bumpers, headlights and got it looking really smart, then the engine seized up for no apparent reason.... Frigging thing!

Reminds me:
at Brunters (I think) just after the first RR. Engine was still running in so wasnt pushing hard.
I think i forgot to add to the story i pulled the naff 5 speed box back out and put a stronger 4 speed back in!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! So firstly i'd like to say thanks to all those posting pics and threads up recently of sweet Fiesta's! This is your fault ;D Can't believe I'm doing this! Up to now, my mechanical skill has pretty much stopped at Swaping Drive shafts, Timing belt on a CVH Sierra, D.I Pump on my Sierra diesel and brake upgrades! I've decided to take the plung, stop whining about it, and have a go at swapping this engine my self! X-flow out! 1100 BACK IN! Crazy as it sounds I perfered the 1100 for many many reasons that would take me hours to type out! ;D So i've just ordered a new clutch for the 1100, Few other parts I need to locate but I'm taking my time with it I don't want to rush, if it takes 12 months so be it! But I want it done right! I'm gonna try and do as much as I can my self, I'm awaiting a message back from a mate who has an Engine Crane I can borrow. So here goes! Will be posting pics as I go! That's it for now :S Dan <--- cacking his pants! |

Nice. Brings back many memories of our mk2... B reg, 1.1L in Laquer Red. Had allsorts of swish things like spotlights and a MW/LW radio lol Drove really well and had absolutely no rust anywhere! Dad kept it waxoyled religiously from the day we bought it. New valveseals, a new antenna and an oilchange the day we bought it (it smoked like a tramp steamer right off the garage forecourt, the 35,000 miles it had on were either clocked (the numbers didn't line up but hey, they rarely do) or it was really 135,000 lol. either way the 1.1 still pulled like a train. Rolled in it for 6 years until 1990 whereby we sold it to a young girl who promptly wrote it off 2 weeks after buying the thing. Talk about gutted. Nice to see you've decided to take care of yours, good to see a fairly unmolested example still kicking about and being enjoyed --Phil |
