In testing the electrics, found that the water pump was u.s. the brushes had worn out, Size is 5mm x 5mm, but I could only get 6mm x 5mm today, so going to have to file / grind them down to the right section, unless anyone knows where I could get the right size, they are 12-16mm long

Hey al yeah but your mad for using galv!!! it takes twice as long to work as you have to grind everything down...
I can get you sheets of 1mm zintec or sheets of 1mm mild steel..
He sells it at the laser cutters up the road from us..
I'll have to pop round one weekend and have a look..

Thanks Oldbus Getting busy under the dash now, more pipes added, Intercooler pipes now sorted , next its the 16mm pipes from the back of the head, which have to go to the pump, which is 19mm, then to the heater Also have to cut in some plug connectors so the loom seperates easy

No deadline to finish, got to whip the engine and box out of my anglia next week, so slowing up progress again. Sanded down some carbon brushes and rebuilt the water pump motor. have cut in three multi plugs into the loom, what a pain they are, especially when the wires are up under the dash. Going to source some hoses for the intercooler, heater and pump next

heater pump, valves and pipes hot water is pumped from the back of the heads and the solenoid valves divert the water to the heater or direct to the coolant return pipe to the engine Next got to find some nice elbow fittings to go in the sides of the chargecooler to take 19mm hose to the front of the car and an extra radiator, pump and small header tank

Thanks for the positive comments guys, just have to keep chipping away at it. its the small details that can take ages to resolve, as I am trying to think several stages ahead, so a quick fix now does not present a tougher problem later. The water pipes to the chargecooler for instance, on one side the threaded hole exits strait onto the handbrake, and I cant find a tight free flowing elbow, been pondering this ages. Just realised that the outlet is in he centre of the end plate, and I might get air trapped in there, so I will now get that welded up and a new hole drilld at the top with a new outlet welded in place, but still have to decide which direction to point the outlet The pipes will run to a rad in the front, would like to get the pipes (19mm ), to go through the chassis rail, but how to get into the chassis and miss the steering, exhaust, brake pedal and my feet and any joints have got to be accessible

charge coolers going off to have new pipes added and existing holes filled. ordered a metro rad, a remote filler neck off a Kawasaki and some hoses off of E Bay Got me a bench seat Looking at how to get a servo and master cylinder under the dash Had the engine and box out of my anglia at the moment for a rebuild, gearbox is back in, still waiting for the block, pistons and head to return so progress on the Cortina has taken a back seat.

Looks like you have had a bit of a clean up in the anglia engine bay, and the bench seat looks at home in the cortina. One more thing you have to put the blue wheels back on the datsun "Great colour"

Chargecooler rad in position got a small electric pump to fit at low level and the filler neck which has to be at the highest point probably in the scuttle somewhere

Just read through this- amazing job- I would hate to do all the wiring under the dash- thats crook neck material for sure!
What engine is it in the anglia?
