Thanks georgeb, Its rewarding fitting parts that wont have to come off again, But saying that, i spent all evening fitting a closer plate to the bulkhead, with holes and grommets for 2 x hoses, the engine wiring and turbo pipe, then realised its all got to come off so i can tighten a hose clip on the chargecooler which cannot go in till i have tested the water pipe connections.

connected up and running Got to get the cold start tuned a bit better and rethink the cooling Currently the heater pump pulls hot water out of the back of the heads and i have routed it to the rear rad. This is heating the rad up before the thermostat opens, all a bit wierd. Might have to restrict the water flow or re route it into the return pipe to the engine

I love this car and what you're doing with it.
Please keep the updates coming.
I've been following it for months but I decided it was about time I showed some appreciation. I know these threads don't write themselves. Awesome stuff.

Whilst waiting for a modification to the thermostat housing, started the bodywork. Doing the roof, door shuts, and inside faces of the doors. Primer filler, block flat, primer, wet flat, colour, then laquer. When those bits are done, hang the doors and repeat the process with the external panels.

Your not wrong Terry. After the second coat of primer was rubbed back we removed all the masking up and did it again. Johns handywork........ Have you started a thread on your next Z ??

Brilliant.
What are your plans for the wheels or are they a secret?

Wheels are secret!! Fitted the charge cooler under the dash.(well most of it ) The tricky bit of getting the pipes to the inlet connected Them the tricky bit of getting the sides closed off and the pipes from the turbo's on Still got the thread through the pipes for the coolant from the charge cooler to the front rad ! Boost valve fitted and wired in

I thought the charge cooler was a really flash interior heater ! That's all getting to production car levels of fit this is going to be one hell of a great car when it's done. Shame all these bits will be hidden away.

Haven't checked in on this for a while - if it's this exciting to catch up on, how on earth are you holding out?

Very close to driving again. I think i have finished underneath, scoop made for the rad. Another pair of hoses under the dash for the charge cooler, filled and pump tested. Need to fit the dash trim, but the knobs that operate the heater damper goes through the dash to the heater. Had to release these from the heater that is now buried behind the charge cooler You can see the end of the outer cable between the blue hose and the Y piece. Not fun !!!
