Thanks guys. Bit more progress. The fuel tank is from a 2004 Pontiac and the in tank pump only puts out 58psi has a built in pressure regulator and no return facility. My engine needs 55psi off boost but will need more fuel pressure as the boost rises. Took the pump apart, blocked off the regulator, and tested with some spare pipe and guage . Got 80+psi Refitted in tank and put tank in car. Scrapped the steel frame i had made as i found some ali that was a lot lighter. Been investigating the gearbox and found there is not enough depth for the BMW torque converter The gearbox is Range Rover with 15mm adapter plate then the Lotus belhousing The BMW converter bolts to a modified flex plate then a 1mm spacer and the skimmed Lotus flywheel. All that lot means i need another 10mm spacer plate to go between the belhousing and engine. Got to persuade a mate to mill this out for me

Awesome project. And great engineering to get it all together. I'm jealous.

Might seem premature but need to sort the headlining whilst i can still turn the car over. Didnt want to do this overhead, so nows a good a time as any. laid the Granada Scorpio headlining in place to check where it fits and where it does not. Cut off the bits that were proud and filled in the gaps round the edges with polythene then paper mache over the lot right upto the edges Will build up another layer tomorrow.

Hey you could have a page 3 headlining, but maybe that would be to distracting!!

Your headliner plans have me curious as well. I would have never thought of paper mache, so I'm curious as to whether you'll reinforce with fibreglass or something.

Well the doubters were right . Given up on the paper mache' though to be fair if i had been more carefull with the polythene behind i might have got away with it. Stripped out the paper and 1 layer of fibreglass to the edges later and its a much better shape. Also tarted up the heater i had previously modified , fitted wiper assembly and heater fan

Layer of fiberglass sorted out the headlining issue. Made a fuel filler neck from a Mazda MX5 pieces, cut, shortened, reduced in diameter and a 8mm pipe for return fuel and a 15mm pipe for venting the tank when filling added .Much head scratching to get all the pieces in the right place as they cant be moved once all welded in. Flush filler cap is from a Harley Davidson, only one i could find small enough to fit in the panel.

Nice work! I have to say though, I never doubted the paper mache thing. I just was curious to see if it would work as it was in my opinion an unexpected approach to the problem. Sorry to see it didn't work as expected, but good to see you tackled the problem another way. Will the liner get coverd or are you going for the fiberglass look?
I think you're working to a high standard!
