Model: Vauxhall Astra 1.4 GLS
Year: 1992
Mileage: 63000
Tax: Feb 2009
MOT: Feb 2010
Location: Surrey
Price: 300
Additional Information:
Short but sweet ad I'm afraid, as its too dark outside to get any decent images.
1992 Vauxhall Astra, owned by an elderly postman at work, who's used it for around the last 6 months as a stopgap car as he sold his new vectra because as of Monday he's moving to Turkey.
Been within our office for ages, used as a commuter car to pop to work and back.
Electric windows, heated electric mirrors, cd player, 1.4 engine so cheap tax.
Sailed through an MOT, tester said its nice and solid underneath, prettier underneath than on top!
Taxed til the end of the month, so you can drive it away.
Drives very nice - no bangs, rattles, anything like that.
Its not very fast, doesnt seem to go above 75/80ish on the motorway, its not a big engine but its apparently always been like this.
few small knocks and scrapes, and hasnt been particuarly well cleaned, but its a cheap tough reliable car.
And the main downside - needs a new drivers side front window - someone lobbed a stone through it.
Piece of glass is about £10-£15 from a breakers, there is a breakers around 10 miles away with quite a load of Astras on the rack.
i'd drive this quite happily anywhere in the UK, bloke at works been using it to travel to Ramsgate from Surrey every weekend.
I can even deliver the car within reason, as long as you drop me at a train station and cover my train ticket home.
So its an Astra, central locking, electric everything, drives nice and quiet, simple engine to maintain, fresh MOT, taxed.
Easy to get to me from the M3/M4/M25. People are welcome to come have a poke around. Its under a car cover to stop any water getting into it. If I've got time, I'll put a new window in.
Cheers!
Jamie
(pic just so you know what shape/style it is... 5 door in white by the way.)
Proper pics to follow in the morning.
