I like the idea of a cross between this........... I say its all about the VIP styling on this kind of JWagon. and this....................... Big turbo chip fat diesel power is a cool idea. relatively simple I would imagine in comparison to some alternatives. It would also keep the eco warriors at bay! The whole project sounds like a top idea, just hope it can be pulled off!

If we were going to go banded steel spare wheels, I think the peugeot / volkswagen ones that have the arrows on them, showing which way the wheel spin are really cool looking.
You mentioned a poll - the idea of a poll for every different idea could end up with lots of different cool on their own details not working together. Although, no one mentioned the way the polls would be laid out, but I think we'd need to agree on the larger things first, and make decisions based on the agreed style. Rather than one poll winning with roof chop, and another deciding matt black, another deciding moon discs and it all looking conflicting.
Anyway, I like the idea myself, although I could probably only help at say RRG, as you're all in England for the most part. Parts/money though, I could possibly contribute.

I think the poll would be great
pope pimp attempt above could be an option (just thought presidential flags on the bonnet might work with the RR logo!)
id be happy to have a go with any other ideas for those who havent got the use of photoshop, that will be my contribution

The initial poll with be to establish the overall concept/theme. Once there is a good selection of photoshops (nice work so far everyone.... ) then we can get everyone to vote for the winning theme...for example: Moon Eyes VIP Nascar Convertible Pick-up BTCC Pope-Pimp Pro-Street That is just an example and hopefully there would be a photoshop image to accompany each theme. Once the theme is chosen, we can start to look more closely at colour scheme, wheels, details, bodywork etc....as well as engine choices. Getting the photoshop ideas in is the most important part of the process right now. I a weeks time I'll get a poll up with the ideas and we can take it from there. Once a theme is decided, I can try and sort a 'bursar' to look after a donations kitty where people can donate a little bit of money towards the project. I hope it won't cost much (creative sourcing is the key) but we will need some money at various points....so having someone in charge of that side of things is quite important. Batten, if you don't mind, I'd love to see some photoshops of the following themes: Nascar, BTCC, Pro-street/Pro-touring, cal look. If you can manage one or two of them, that would be awesome! Thanks again everyone, Bruce.

No really.. seeing as our motto is "Everything has potential" Even modern stuff. Should probably be etched into a window somewhere on the build. Also .. before people go crazy with modifying the shell... I've got three letters for you S V A ... or more to the point I V A (which could be v.expensive in relation to the rest of the build).

Ok this ones a bit more ropey but I'm sure you'll get the idea. BTCC, ive tried to keep the styling around the same vintage as the mid 90's. Colour is similar blend of the forum colours, obviously ive left out the mass number of sponser decals (could leave us to create our own retro-rides ones!) If I'm missing some signiture pieces out of the BTCC style let me know

Lovin that Retro Pope Mobile look there!, Not sure about the curtains in the back though. And also not so keen on that BTCC look one though Batten, Looks like a cross between a car that's just crashed in to Halfrauds and a Max Power reject to me. Just had to add, I spy The Stig eyeing up the SM in this picture!

...i've for long have had the idea of doing this concept to a fairly modern wagon:
Roof chop 2-door conversion, with gullwing doors Tilt front end Interior with four racing buckets and a center console going through the entire car
...(quite a wicked show car look)

D'OH! I don't think this BTCC style would work on the road, unless it was maybe an old cavalier or volvo estate

May I interlope on this subject. The cause is noble and I can understand why some folk do not want to get involved as personal taste, ethics etc. etc.can cause any problems in a project like this. I would love to help but I don`t have the time, space, skill, knowledge but may be able to put a couple of quid in if the right charity is involved. As some have already quoted a project such as this is in danger of upsetting many but I hope those hardy souls who want to put it together are resolute in their quest to prove to others that it can be done. There have been some suggestions as to what form this creation should take. I would like it to embody what RR is about. I personally think it should be an older vehicle but if the canvas is free then the creativity is all the cheaper. Looking through the suggestions so far my feelings are towards - Moon yellow salt flat style with the motive power coming from the most powerful chip fat powered engine available. Take it to Bonneville and set a record after every RRer has owned it (and set another record) and visit as many home based shows as possible to spread the good word.

Just to refresh this thread, I will be putting up a poll on Friday so that people can vote for the theme they would like to see on this car. That we can can actually start to get things moving with the proejct. If you have any further ideas for a theme please submit them in the next two days. One I would still love to see photoshopped onto the CamRRy is a Nascar theme: Anyone fancy having a go??

...but just want to add how good do beige flames on brown look I know - I was quite blown away with the Snickers livery. Imagine that look on the CamRRy! ;D Black banded wheels, fat rubber with yellow lettering, lots of sponsor stickers, slabsided kit (should be quite easy), nice rake, meshed/net window trim, perspex windows (obv, not windsscreen), RR logo instead of the door number, lots of rivets around the car, various aero 'add ons' and of course the brown paint with cream/beige flames.....WINNAR!!!
