I too know nothing about them, but a mate does.
He has a collection of 20+ of all different makes etc, most work some don't, he even bought a film splicer and an editing thing for them.
He made a few videos of mates and himself on their BMX's looks kinda funky in an old school grainy film effect ;D

Where do you get the film developed?

I've owned about 20 odd Super 8's. Still got some of them. I had a couple of Chinon's too. They're alright. Kinda cheap but they have lots of features. They're a bit plasticy though (a mate of mine melted one when he left it too close to a movie light).
My best Chinon is my main use camera though - not used it in a few years mind you.
If you wanna collect them then something a bit more sturdy, all metal and mechanical (as in no electrics) is better imo. Saying that most of mine are cheapo ones (could never afford the others).
You can still get film and have it developed but its not cheap. Most film is sent away to the US for developing apart from specialist labs which are expensive.
