Will be starting to prep capri for paint in next week or two, it has a few dents to fill and I have to blend the fibreglass arches in to the body. There are a couple of small scabs of rust too.
I'm going to grind out any rust, and take paint away with grinder before I fill any dents and blend the arches.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice?
Like what type of sandpaper to use to take the paint down a bit before I start to primer it? And how much Ill need for the whole capri (I'm doing it matt so wont be sanding between coats)
Also, whats the best way to blend the fibreglass arches? They are rivetted on but I presume they will still move fractionally enough to crack filler, am i right in thinking that some of that fibreglass resin sheeting you can get in motorworld would be a good initial thing to bridge them and then build on top with fibreglass followed by a skim of filler to smooth them?
What would be the best sandpaper to use to take the filler down?
Also the doors seem to be covered in all sorts of paints, metallic and otherwise plus its flaking, would I be best to Nitromors the doors before I prime them? Thanks a lot guys, some advice would be very much appreciated
