What a fantastic thread, feel like I have just gone back to my youth. Never forget being taken to Gloucester docks, dad saying he would show me the concrete barge, Yeah right pull the other one. Retro engineering goodness. ;D I have to agree, I felt a bit like a kid too, wanted to play onboard. These sort of outings need to be shared.

Fantastic stuff! And glad to see an enamel tea pot in the galley: bet they use tea leaves too, not that tea bag nonsense....

Enjoyed that, Griz-O! Many thanks to your sweet bird and yourself for sharing once again.
When I see old pre-war Channel boats like Pescalune or Fearnought, I always wonder where they were during Dunkirk. Was Pescalune commandeered and converted for the forthcoming SeeLowe operation? A lot of Dutch canalboats were appropriated too. Or was she already in the UK by then? If those old planks could talk... Amazing...
I can smell the salt and hear the birds from here...

Great post, thanks for sharing! There's nothing like having a missus who likes you to enjoy life, is there? I was married to a woman who resented anything I did for fun, which sucked. Now, I have a missus who is happy to pootle around in old Citroens, who has a Triumph Herald convertible on the drive, and who even if she can't understand why I like something, supports me in enjoying it. Yay for the right kind of missus!
