the van runs super due to a 10.5:1 comp it tends to prefer it the estate normally gets super as well but it will run fine on most types. polo is fussy and only like shell optimax or what every it called now at the moment but that is subject to change without notice . the Volvo will be super when done and that's what it gets now . and the galant is modern so gets what its given again mostly super

Anyone who uses LRP - I stand to be corrected but as far as I'm aware it's not that great and best avoided - decent Unleaded with a reputable addative every tank or two such as Millers VSP is much better in my opinion LRP is, so I'm told, made from all the garbage no-one else wants to use, as there's no offical standard, so who knows what goes into it! All of mine always ran much, much happier on just plain unleaded, or with Millers. IIRC valve seat a recession only a real 'issue' if you're sitting at high engine speeds (such as motorway cruising) for extended periods of time regularly, anyway

V-Power or Tesco '99 when I'm near a Shell or a Tesco. Nearest to me on both counts is about 20 miles away though, so Sainsbury's 97RON most of the time. 95 is a nono, tons of pinking and a clattery noise when I use that O.o Really need to get my timing done.

The Saab needed Super, or Tesco 99, but luckily the IS200 can run on standard decent normal cheap swamp gas tesco 95 premium.

Tesco 99 RON in the Uno. Seemed to run a lot better and not run on so much when I switched it off. Ordinary diesel in the Astra (Mk3 Izuzu TD). What other random curse word can I chuck in it? Not really looked into it but if it'll run on anything else i'll give it a go. Matt izusi td will run on 80% veg oil in winter and 100% throught the summer

Just ordinary 95 in everything, although the Mini gets a dose of Valvemaster as well. A mate was trying to get some avgas to try in his pre 65 trials bike and suggested sloshing some of that in the Min Hasn't turned up yet tho.

V-Power or 99 in the Saab - it's got way more boost than it should and no knock protection. It'll run on less, but you have to drive it like your grandad.

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

Unleaded in both of mine. Aircooled VWs from 1970 onwards (so any TP engines, and almost all others now) can all use it without modification.

I've just started to experiment with 97 in the 13/60.. It's got an unleaded head and I have no idea how anything has been set up in the past so I'm just giving it a go.. No difference in performance over 95 but does appear to be a bit more efficient on it. I'll need to run a couple more tanks of it through first to be able to tell though.

I filled up last night.. I've gone from 32ish with 95 to 35ish MPG with 97.. That's only the first tank so it could go either way but it looks promising

The Benz drinks regular 95 RON unleaded, usually supermarket stuff.
The BMW's tipple of choice is diesel, but being a bit snobbish she only has branded stuff, to try to stop the throttle sensor getting mucky. She might be going veggie but have to look into all that.
