I've just seen one of these! On French plates, cruising through Darenth. It would appear to be a kit by a company called Hoffman. Anyone else seen one? The one I saw actually looked better than the pic, quite nice in fact.

Wow! I've never seen one. But I did see a really immaculate pale blue Dyane on the M6 yesterday, near Birmingham!

Wow that’s the first time I have seen a French-modified car which looks even remotely cool. This is the more usual look:

"Small cars held a special interest for Issigonis, and the Minor Peugeot 309 originated as a small car called the Mosquito that he developed during the Second World War. By war's end a prototype had been built.
The proportions of the car didn't look quite right to Issigonis, however, and he decided that the car was too narrow. In his practical way he had it split longitudinally, pulled the two halves apart, and added 102 mm (4 in.) to the width. It now looked "right," and became the shape of the production Morris Minor 309 "

That cal look 2CV is so much cooler than a Beetle. I love it when people think differntly like that. Rear arch needs to be standard shape though. Didn't one of those old time Car magazine writers have a 2CV turbo for ages that caught fire on the motorway. Dude!

Had a GS lump in it I think, with a turbo of some sort. Damn, I'll have to dig it out now...

Steve Cropley? It was a stock 602cc with a Garrett and SU carb. Burnt out, but rebuilt and still around. The GS engine has been put into a lot of 2CVs (sometimes with the 5 speed box but this requires a lot of front body modification). The 2CV(s... there were 3 of them) in the James Bond film was fitted with an early GS engine mated to the original gearbox - went like stink. One of them is still around, and is driven daily by a chap in Leeds after he replaced the bashed body panels. The four wheel drive car looks like a Louis Barbour conversion. www.2cv4x4.com/ They go virtually anywhere, but cost a fortune...
