hey, just wondered if any musicians out there mod there instruments, i like doing this as much as i do my cars i guess, even things as simple as stickering them up, I'm a drummer, and do thing like sticker up the bass drum skin i also recoated my own drums .. heres the pics... the reb and white one ( now unfortunatly sold to fund anglia ) was the hardest. i covered it in red fablon then stuck on each individual red square of fablon, was a mission but worth it, i then sprayed all the metal bits ( the hardware ) half red and half white. and the current drum kit i just covered in zebra print vinyl. i really wanna hav a go at making a propa ratty drum kit, like the propa rat cars ;D I'm currently rattin a guitar, ill get pics later Brass is a big interst too, like trombones and trumpets, ratty ones ...

Yeah, I do. The two Telecasters were built from parts from ebay etc. I was fed up with not being able to buy a guitar that was exactly how I wanted it.

Made me a plank: Body wood's from a church door, maple through-neck, active treble/bass, ebony board 'n bits, French polished. Poor ol' thing needs to come apart now, the polish needs re-doing and dings 'n dents sorting.

Those drums look class. I have an old cheap strat clone, I was thinking about turning into a rock band controller, because the plastic guitar you get is so small.

cheated a bit, my friend is a drum maker and I got him to build me this kit for a tour, its a one off hand built kit... hand made shells, custom sizes 18 12 14 floor tom, wooden hoops, super thin shells with maple re-enforcement rings. I love it.

Custom drums are always cool, regardless of who made them

Custom drums are always cool, regardless of who made them defo, they look well smart? how do they sound? about 2 years ago i nearly built my own, like buying acrylic shells undrilled, and bearing them my self etc, and putting all the lugs on my self, and then i found my anglia, and that cost less, lol ;D

That's cool as feck. Give the knobs a quick rub with 1200 grit wet and dry, just enough to let moisture attack them, and bung them in some salt water
