Ok, we get it Mr B, you think it's ugly (and so do I as it happens). Like I said though... women... one of life's great mysteries. So let's all leave the poor little slagged-off mini alone and move on with our lives! We all think its ugly, but admire the workmanship and can rationalise the reason for it's construction.
Now I'm not sure of my facts here, so no quoting me, but I'm pretty sure that Kelly Whatsername was in fact Tracy Chantry's long-term girlfriend at the time of the car's construction so I imagine that the labour was free (I'm only basing this on seeing the mini, Kelly and Tracy once at a show 'n' shine... at least I assume it was them as the lady climbed out of this mini and the guy climbed out of the '37).
edit... we all think it's ugly except for minime! Oh and for my money mini-wise you can't get better looking than a Mk1 Cooper in Red with a black roof on 10" cosmics. NICE!

Sorry, I'm not trying to be controversial here, but I like the Mini. Purely on the grounds that I've taken my Mini to 1001 mini shows and all the cars there look like...well, mini's. No great surprise there, but its good to see someone deviate from the usual course off mini-modding which is to stick a couple of spot lights on the grille, stripes up the bonnet and bits of chrome here and there (like I've done!). In my opinion its very cool because its unique (and looks a bit like a 60's Skyline in your rear-view mirror!) edit: Ok, it might look a bit like a Skyline if you squint, in the dark.....and its a bit foggy... or a Singer Vogue perhaps? No? It must be me and the Carlsberg. It looks like what?!?!? A BLRA-3 Skyline Sport?! You're fuggin' insane, the only thing vaguely similar is that it has quad front lamps! *huddles in a corner and cries at the comparison*

Car manufactures spend millions on car development and design, why bother changing something that looked so good originally?
Some cars like the mini look damn good left as they are.
Mind you this kind of 'DIY car styling' was common years ago, I've been flicking through old editions of 'Custom car' and 'Street machine' recently and this would have been appriciated in the late seventies more.

I've read this thread and I take this away from it :
"yadda, yadda, yadda another obviously nasty car on ebay, yadda yadda lots of work gone into it, blah blah not to my taste."
I'm fed up of nasty cars on ebay or anywhere else for that matter,.. take it to Barryboys,.. only nice cars on here please. Or at least cars that some people might like!

I can appreciate the work that went into the Mini, but it's not my cuppa. OMG! Cast your mind back people, seen it before? it was a feature car in Street Machine and appeared on the cover about 14ish years ago! though it was red and had different wheels then. Bloody hell, some things just never die, they just get painted horrered colours and have crudlicious graphics stuck on them! I will have to go through my piles of old car mags now to see if I can find it!
