Thick padded thermal overalls.... Its like working in a sleeping bag. I reccomend them. I am a skinny girly wuss about the cold but these are great. Mine are made by Dickies.... Go check em out.

Really need to sort something out for when we are working, as its bitterly cold in the unit. It gets so cold you can almost hear some brass monkeys crying There's not much point in trying to heat my place, it's too big. Not a massive footprint but it's taller than most houses, so you'd just be convecting the hell out of the ceiling. Which would be nice for the pigeons who live in the roof. then all you need is a 17 quid b+q ceiling fan to blow the hot air back down to you

Ha!
Heaters are for wimps - or non-Canuckleheads. Did I ever tell you all about the breakers yard in Saskatchewan (where I used to live) which would give a one percent discount on parts for every degree the temperature dropped below zero - ie 15% discount if it was -15 degrees out. The yard would be very busy when it got below -25 degrees.

I have finally moved the mini to my wee workshop at the house. Its been snoing here all day, but I was quite warm thanks to my woodburner. 2 old gas cylinders and some welding... It warms the place up a treat. I should really lag the roof to keep the heat in I suppose.

i use the direct fired parafin heaters on red diesel , you have to turn the pump pressure up to get the diesel to burn correctly , i use a 28 kw in the 20foot x 10 footx 12 foot tent on my drive where my van is . I'm the uk service manager / head of engineering for a large heater / bolier / chiller/ air con hire comapny , so i get free pickings from our fleet to use at home , heaters start at 28 kw and go up to 150 kw or i can use our 500 kw oil fired containerised boilers.

Carpet floor is usually my first addition, makes a HUGE difference to lying on the concrete . Once I get my own place it'll deffo have a wood burner in the corner copying one of your lot..........
