What videos would you guys like to see of the Capri? Anything in particular? Busy filming and editing a few at the moment but your feedback would be so important and helpful

Always drive by videos, or full acceleration on board where legal (not going to encourage oafish behaviour ) Possibly walk around video shot from hip height 🤔

Bit of a long shot but if you could blag your way into having this in a ford showroom amongst new metal it would make for a epic photo/video shoot

Went to Cars and Coffee and had a blast. Met the Mayor! He was very interested in the Capri. The organiser knew the nickname my mates gave the car when we were teens (Raucous curse word) and was trying to get me to tell the Mayor 😂
Broke down on the way home, though 🙄
Going into the garage tonight for some fault finding. The dash lights were flickering for a bit and then it started to miss. Then it cut out and had no juice to fire up again. It was just clicking. Strangely it then managed to crank and fire up only to do it again in the Mersey Tunnel 🙄😂
I've tested the alternator and it's not charging. Haven't got any further. A little confused why it seemed ok again temporarily.... Fingers crossed it's simple 🤞

Rust is lighter than Carbon Fibre which is why old Fords are so fast.

Trying to build the motivation to get in the garage one night as I can only really get in when the kids are in bed and work has me shattered at the moment! Got a diff problem (too many burnouts!) but a shiny new Blackline LSD to fit! Unbelievably excited about this but there are some hurdles to fit it. Also collected everything I need to hike the power past the magic 300. Just need to get back on it asap before the spring, preferably. Don't want to waste any driving time! I also need to look at new tyres as the ones I have are over 10 years old. The two I've been looking at (need 265/50/15) are: Bf Goodrich Cooper Cobra I want more traction at the drags - anyone have experience of these tyres? Can't go mega expensive as I don't have the budget. Any advice sought 😁 I'll be buying one tyre per month I think If any of my RetroRides brethren could subscribe to my channel on YouTube it'd really help with my motivation to get in the garage on a cold winter's night as I'll be more inclined to do it if I'm filming for the channel. Mostly Roadster content at the minute - exhaust builds, spoiler fitting etc. but there are some Capri videos. More to come - time is tricky to come by but my aim is at least one new video a month. Current planned video list in my notepad: Capri drag/road car: LSD fit 300bhp plus part fit and test Rolling road power run Smart Roadster daily:Gearbox - really that bad? A year dailying the roadster - my thoughts. Custom Nascar spoiler build Spark plug change - how to without removing the whole rear end. Gearbox reprogramme Chip tune stage 1 and rolling road Mazda Eunos track/road car:Repaint and anime style highlighting Brake upgrade Trackback diary My Instagram page has hit 2.5k followers which is awesome and helping the motivation a lot but I actually only started the Instagram page to generate interest in the YouTube channel which is my ultimate goal. Thing is - YouTube content takes a lot more time than Instagram content! So if you'd like to subscribe and help me get out in the garage at night, here is the link: www.youtube.com/c/RustedPistonsOn Instagram, I post photos from shoots and create stylistic reels (short videos) of my cars. Here's the link to that one: www.instagram.com/rustedpistonsThanks to all on RR that have followed my builds over the years - you're all bloody awesome

Have a pic from a rolling shoot I did with Danny Piercy! Started on the rear end rebuild the other night. Pics to follow! Got the halfshafts out without too much drama - no damage to the diff! A brake shoe had split in half because some wally keeps doing brakestand burnouts without a linelock 🤔 dunno who. Horrible noises explained but I'm still going to swap the diff. Currently on axle stands with the diff cover off and halfshafts out. Need to take the axle off now - planning on spending Tuesday night doing that. Got new shoes and fitting kit on the way. Got to decide whether to keep the multis or fit the singles I have in the workshop.

Managed to snap a brake pipe so I've ordered a new one. I've also ordered news shoes and springs. I decided to fit the single leaf springs so I've cleaned them up and fitted poly bushes into the ends. Getting the old bushes out took a little while but I got there in the end! I've cleaned the axle up and painted it with rustoleum gloss black and I have a new dial gauge and shim kit waiting for the LSD swap. I'm going to start this next week and film the whole thing for my YouTube channel. If you haven't seen any of my vids - here's a link: www.youtube.com/c/RustedPistonsThere's older stuff on there like exhaust modding stuff on the old Lincoln Towncar and my Jaguars as well as newer stuff featuring my Smart Roadster and the Capri. Loads of vids in the making at the moment.

My answer to your tyre question would be "none of the above". They'll probably be better than what you've currently got just because the rubber is new and soft, but neither are good for drag racing.
