put 2 pairs of rims you tehre car? i.e one pair on one sied, and another on the other?
think about it, you can only ever see 2 of the rims at one time, so you could achieve 2 different looks on the same car.
just wondering, after andy off cgti mentioned it to me on msn.

Done both of those options in the past. Though always through reasons of poverty rather than style. Unless you've got a seriously stylish and well-done car, it's always gonna look jippo. (IMHO).

Well, not until you stopped / parked. Then you'd be rumbled.

So therefore whats the point of doing it? I’m afraid folk are gonna a) not notice or b) think ‘what a traveller, why cant he get a set of matching wheels’.

no, but you could never look at the car, and see the odd wheels together, no matter which way you look at the car, agreed you could see the wheels and then run round to the other side and see another pair, but upon viewing the car, you could never see the odd wheels, so it would never look stupid cos when you look at the car from any angle, it wont have odd wheels.
i think you could get away with it tbh, reason being, you could give the car 2 different looks in one go

you could give the car 2 different looks in one go 2 different looks that only you know about! Have you got time to decide which side of your car you want to look at? I bloody haven’t!

Yes it has been done before,.. there is a Mk3 Escort around the place somewhere that is done half in new style MaxPower-ish look and the other half done in a more early 90's style ,.. it's really effective (as a show car) one half is bright Yellow and the other is dark blue... It also has different wheels on either side,.. same rolling radius on the tyres but one side has big 16" jobbies and the other has 13 or 14" wheels...

Didnt this happen on the 73/74? Rac Rally on the Mk1 escort? They completed one stage with 13" miniligts on one side and 15" on the other. Apparently they didnt notice!

Remember the Polo Harlequin? If you just can't decide how you want your car to look... I wonder what colour it says on the V5 doc?

Remember the Polo Harlequin? If you just can't decide how you want your car to look... I wonder what colour it says on the V5 doc? There's some nasty Kia heap going round my way with that paintjob too. Farkin' orrible! As for wheels being different on either side... dunno if it's been done, but I can't see the point really! I quite like odd wheels front / rear. Dunno why... in some situations it looks cool (like if you're running a Jag rear axle on a Cortina or something!)

. Ah, the Polo bloody harlequin. What an awful idea for a car. I've always wanted to set about one of those with some matt black paint during the night, so that in the morning the image-consious type who owns it would be horrified to find that some image-conscious prole had replaced their bloody yuppie paintjob with something that actually resembles a real paintjob! ;D ;D *n

There's another Car like that as well, will try and find a pic.. Also there's a standard bmw round our area with different set of alloys on each side
