"1989 Saab 9000 Carlsson - £200 - NorfolkThis was one of those spur-of-the-moment eBay purchases that seemed like a great idea at the time but which, much as I like it, I don't really have space or use for. It's got a short tax & test (tax till the end of this month and test till January 17th), but the only obvious thing I can see it'd need for a new test is that it has a bit of an exhaust blow (not bad, but it's there) from somewhere near the front - the weather has yet to stay dry for long enough for me to crawl underneath and find out exactly where. It drives fine, with no smoke or nasty noises, it doesn't jump out of any gears and the brakes are good. Tyres are all OK too. All the electrics seem to work apart from the cruise control, although the heater fan only works on its highest setting. Even the headlight wipers still work. The boost gauge doesn't work either, but that's usually just a vacuum pipe come off - I haven't had a chance to look yet. It does need some other jobs doing to get it back to how Saab intended. The headlining is sagging, as per usual; the offside windows need the motors replacing; and a couple of the arches are bubbling up and would need preventative maintenance at some point. The bottoms of the doors have rust in them too. It's done about 153K, which is not a huge amount for a 9000 of this age, so there should be plenty of life in the engine yet. It still pulls well - not quite as fast as I was expecting, but then the last 9000 I had was a 2.3 turbo which had more torque. It's still plenty quick enough to leave most traffic behind. The chap I bought it off was a Saab enthusiast who had had it for 14 years and it had regular maintenance during his ownership. Here's a couple of pictures - sorry it's so filthy, but keeping a car clean in rural Norfolk at this time of year is like painting the Forth road bridge. About £275 should buy it.

D'you know Mr Wuvvum, I'm really surprised you've had no replies regarding this car. I thought the Carlsson was THE Saab to have. It's a shame I'm an autobox man, otherwise I'd be after you for it. It looks like that could scrub up nicely. Even with the few bits and bobs it needs, I think it's a bar-gin. Have a free bump.

Very cool car. Have you tried sticking it up on UKSaabs? I doubt it would stay advertised for long on there before getting snapped up.

UK Saabs is the place - but I'd suggest to double the price.
If you want to sell it at £275 - ask me - and I might be interested.
This is the 2nd of these this week - the other at £350 was also half what it should have been.

I haven't sold it as yet - not tried putting it on UK Saabs as I put my old 900 Turbo on there last year when I was thinking of selling that and I didn't get any interest at all. I suppose I could give it a try though. Maybe setting the price too low puts people off? I would be happy to sell it for 275 though - I'm clean out of off road parking spaces so if it doesn't sell I've got to find another 100 quid about a week after Christmas to tax it again. Or put it in the drive and stick the Innocenti on the front lawn, which I'm sure the neighbours and my landlady would be most impressed by...

Well, following a number of potential buyers who expressed a desire to purchase but have so far failed to show up, this is still for sale. Out of T&T now but still running & driving fine. I will refuse to believe that no-one has bought this for £200 if it's still for sale by Monday, that's one of the biggest bargains I've seen in a while.

This is an absolute steal at £200. Carlssons are awesome cars, damn fast, extremely comfortable & almost certainly an appreciating asset. The vendors a decent honest bloke - this wont be rubbish.
Worth every penny of £200 (if I hadnt got 3 c900's -and just bought an R18 est.....)

are you sure it's a carlsson? i put the reg into confused.com and it just said it's a regular 9000 turbo - plus that exhaust looks a bit small(?)

Looks like it's got a Carlsson badge on - but is a 2.0 turbo SE. Which makes a huge difference TBH. It'd also explain why it's lower on power!

would have it off your hands if it were nearer to oxford Bummer. I was down in Oxford last weekend. Isn't that always the way? It really isn't all that far though - I drove down on the Thursday evening and it took me about two and a half hours, and that was without pushing it.
