Love this one! Plenty of scope for some interesting paint on thsoe curves I kinda dream of having something like this for pottering about town but all the additional costs of getting a bike licence tend to add up...

If I lived close to work I'd definitely have a chicken-chaser for everyday use. 110mpg vastly outweighs the considerable risk of going over a speedhump too fast and having to walk to work with just some handlebars sticking out of me tea-towel holder. Surely the ultimate moped...the Honda Cub, with 118,000,000 produced since it was launched 50 years ago.

I used to collect mopeds, had hundreds of em when I was like between the ages of twelve and sixteen. Honda 4-strokes were always my faves, (PC50,C70,SS50,S90,Novio,etc) but I also had Puch sports / maxi, Daimler,BSA,Mobylette,Triumph,Suzi FZ50 etc. Currently have a chinese monkey and a 1988 XL250

I don't think fleets of oily blue-smoking mopeds are going to be "allowed" in city centers once cars are banned either. 50 scooters vs. 1 bus, or prisoner tram, that will be the calculus used by the high police of mobility.

Most of the modern commuter peds are four stroke now anyway aren't they? A two stroke ban on city centers does seem likely.
I've always harboured a secret desire to be a bit of a mod. Still got a pile of Scooting Internationals up in the roof somewhere. Of course this started just at the time that every indie kid in the country also did, so I always felt a bit priced out. Very nearly baught a MK1 T5 but decided for the money I'd rather have a car.
Would still love a series III Lambretta, but thats another area where all but the most dedicated enthusiasts are scene taxed out.

so my wartburg won't be going into the city then? smokes well but you can't ban it 'cos its emmissions exepmt ;D as for peds, any two strokes now are extremely efficient devices, two stroke tech is sooo advanced. have a look at snowmobile stuff in particular. its heavily governed by the EPA but consumers still want strokers, so the manufacturers put millions into devloping engines that meet the criteria. also jetski/PWC's are fairly advanced but four strokes are prevailing there. my WIP. a 140cc honda 90 I'd love to see a slammed maicoletta-

That 90 reminds me of one i built. it had the engine , cradle, and swingarm/monoshock from a motorhispania road bike , with cg125 forks and drop bars wish i hadnt got rid of that.

My dad has recently got quite into Vintage mopeds. He is a member of the the National Autocycle & Cyclemotor Club. They're some strange old stuff in there. Last year my dad even rode the Coast to Coast on an NSU Quickly. They are quite useable I would think if you only traveled in the city. My personal favorite is the Dunkley Wippet: Designed and built by a pram maker in North London it features in an-house designed and built engine.

Tried that...... twice...... won't budge....... It has been stuck in sheds for eleventy seven years though apparently. Previous owner bought it off the original owner as a long term shed item in 1990 and proceeded to keep it in his shed until I bought it a few months ago!

Good call, not sure what the future is, my choice is two wheeled, engineless cycle bike for upto about 4 or 5 miles daily journeys, after that i'd probably get lazy so scooting/motorbiking is the way after that. biggest problem is potentially falling off Unless you have a good economical tram/train service nearby, cos that can be a good chill out if you have one... I had a 1985 Honda H100S when I was 17 on a learner plate, as I couldn't afford a car while at college, it replaced 28 busses a week and more than halved travel time. Similar reasons for grabbing this off Bladerunners dad. modelled by the glamerous 'dugong' Plan was to have a fun cheap second funky retro vehicle for when the Fiesta is in the wars and getting shops/places when boss needs car, well that was summer and now its winter, so no rush till next year now, DVLA have lost V5 bladerunner sent off. Anyone know where Chassis number is? its difficult to examine it at the mo in its storage. I'd really like a trick classic Lambretta or summat
