What TG needs is someone to lay down a challenge, like their retro car is quicker round the track than a modern car. Just make sure the retro wins by picking something beatable, not a supercar. Let's be honest, a Mk1 Escort (for example) packing 150bhp will make a Focus ST170 look very silly due to better weight distribution and a superior power/weight ratio.

I only get to see the chopped down version on BBC World, but it's still worth watching. Agreed about it being annoying when they play music over the reviews when we could otherwise be hearing the engine, especially on the sportier stuff. It would be nice if they did some retro stuff on the track - a Mk1 Lotus Cortina driven by The Stig would be a must-see.

Perry was the 'original' Stig - he got the boot after writing a book called 'I Am The Stig'. Remember he 'died' after driving their nitrous oxide-propelled jag off an aircraft carrier. Last season, it was Ben Collins (the guy who drove down the hill to try and beat the skateboarder in a mitsu evo and bowler wildcat and who was playing car football on this seasons' opener). This season....I think it's still Ben. *n

Only one thing could improve Top Gear - Vicky Butler Henderson Any one see the Fifth Gear where she was stood next to a TVR in the pouring rain in a t-shirt ?!?! You beat me to it Graham.......(you should have seen the one where she wore a short skirt and jumped off a wall - let's just say you could see quite a long way up her thighs.....) Top Gear is the original and best motoring show - and it's so much better than that Fifth Gear nonsense. I mean, Tiff Needel (probably the most annoying presenter ever) and that Jason Plato tw at, he's such an annoying vain....tw at (I have a small vocabulary when it comes to descriptive words) I think that German bird who does the features on the Nureburg ring would be an ace presenter (+ she's quite fit) - hope she does some of the test drives for the next series as JC has injured his back.

Top Gear has to be one of the best programmes on TV, you never know what they're gonna come up with next, how many people would think of taking a standard Tranny diesel around the Nurburgring to see how quick they could do a lap. It would have gone round quicker if it had been white though.
The other thing i find with TG now is, even though its on for an hour now, it doesnt seem long enough.
It would be good to see a more mainstream car go round the track rather than all those supercars, i would love to know what my Rapid would lap it in.
