A little update on this... Had a few problems of late, got them all sorted now. Firstly, the head gasket went. The engine was a little tired, low compression and a bit smokey, so rather than replace the gasket, take the engine out : ) Then mess about for a bit Find a new one And bung it in Job Done! errrr or maybe not, the danger of buying an engine without hearing it running. Ran a compression test, down on two cylinders. took the head off, cracked : ( A couple of heads later found a good one. So, skimmed and pressure tested Fastened it back on - managed to source a piper cam from s120c too, so put that in at the same time : ) And after much messing about, it works! And looks good without a bonnet on I reckon... Just in time for the retro rides gathering. Chuffed.

thanks for the comments! nice work! bet that goes well now, Bluebirds rule It goes really well! I did the first 600 miles on standard boost... you have to re-torque the head after that. However, now thats done I have put on a different actuator. Running just under a bar, and it flies! Next job a bigger intake manifold and throttle body, then bigger injectors, safc2 and mapping. Alv

I might be mistaken, but I think I've followed that Sunny van up the M1 on numerous occasions in all sorts of old stuff.

Couple of subtle changes... pre facelift grill and lights added, side strips removed.

If this hadn't popped up on the 'Cars of RR' thread I'd've missed it. Very, very nice indeed.

Very nice bluebird mate. My dad has this '84 bluebird standing awaiting a bit of work. It's also a Turbo version with the adjustable shocks, electric sunroof, windows and such.
