Nothing major though,.. just fitted a new interior arial (as someone had snapped off the exterior one before I got the car),.. No idea if it'll have better radio reception now but I can test it out on the way to work tomorrow. Now all I need is the external arial fitment removed and the wing smoothed.

Lightweights! This weekend: -Trip to Mercman to get stuff -Fitted new electric seat controllers in doors -Fixed busted electric window -Drank beer -Fitted loads of chrome trim back on car -Measured up for back rams -Realised skin was burning, drank more beer to cool down -Ripped all batteries and rack out of car to tidy up and paint -Replaced skinny cutoff for huge new one -Replacement of aforementioned cutoff allowed more current and hence now got proper 6" hop whilst on the hoof ;D Tested new found hydraulic energy fully. -Repaired door trim -Cleaned under one wheel arch and was shocked to find no rust and original clean shiney paint -Made mental note to clean other three arches... -Went in, drank more beer and cooked massive steak on bbq. Next weekend: Fit back hydraulics and test thoroughly around town... Oh, and probably drink beer. Nice.

Very cool!,... looking forward to seeing it!!
and what do you mean lightweight, thats the most work I've done on my car in months!
Currently considering stripping out as much of the interior as is easily unboltable to get some better fuel economy what with petrol prices and all that.
Really want to sort out some solenoid doors as the central locking is buggered and I'm not paying for a complete handle assembly when the only thing thats gone is a tiny little spring thats snapped.

I fitted a whole new headlamp Stopped outside my house and the 21 year old mastic round the glass gave up, glass fell into the street, smash, phone call to Dave Hart at Peugeot parts, bye bye £90 (holy ****). Still it was a genuine 5 minute job (they do exist). Got so excited I fitted a strut brace as well - 10 mins the both ;D

...the 21 year old mastic round the glass gave up, glass fell into the street, smash, That happened to my mates Renault 6 last month. He stopped, the headlight lens fell out and smashed, and it technically wrote the car off as the cost of a new one was uneconomical. Think he now has a golf headlight crudely wedged in the for now...

I just immobilised my fiancee's new Fiat Brava within 24 hours of picking it up... went to do an oil change, undid the sump plug, and the thread came out with it. Helicoil kit on order, fiancee still commuting to work in Audi Coupe trailing a blue haze of oil smoke.
Moral of this story is - modern cars are rubbish.

I tightened the fan belt on my Cressida. You have a Cressida? Wow. I saw one in Ipswich a few weeks ago, an S-reg estate, not a spot of rust on it. My Dad used to have one out in the Middle East - first car I ever crashed. (No serious damage, apart from to my Dad's nerves.)

I think the winscreen wiper I replaced last week probably technically wrote off the Zs according to its book value. ;D
I gonna do a thread on this. How much is your car worth a)in cost to you and b) according to the normal price guide. Lets see who's the farthest out there!

Well, in the past few days I have almost removed teh diff and gearbox from a spares Pug 403, put the pedals back in my 404 after I got them pressod off the shaft and freed up as they had siezed from a long layup. I managed to break off the main brake line at the same time, so I now have another job to do. I also replaced the head on my brother's Ford Falcon. All bar 2 exhaust studs were snapped off, and we had a spare head so we just swapped them. Here is how easy they are to work on. I removed the head in 33 minutes and after I cleaned the surfaces I fitted teh new one in 49 minutes. Looks like I will be removing the gearbox from the Transit (again) soon to replace the clutch. My best time for removing the Transit box is 30 minutes and 45 to replace it. I have had a bit of practice.

That was close. Just for a moment I thought about putting in a bid - almost convinced myself that a reliable old Toyota estate would be "useful". Then my other half reminded me that we already have seven cars, and only really enough space for four.
