just come back to my gixer in tescos carpark and the no plates gone, its just been ripped off taking half the mount with it, whats the score here, are you sposed to report it to the police ?? i know they aint gonna find it, i also aint gonna claim on the insurance but with things the way they are these days i just wanna try to cover myself incase some tozzer uses it for a petrol blag or something, is it the police i report to or dvla or  ? cheers  |

report it to plod, might be cctv evidence in tescos if your lucky and its working.

no cctv, went back in and asked customer "service" (term used very lightly - basically told, tough curse word, park at own risk)  will go and see if police station is open cheers |

I would deff report it. Who knows why they wanted your plate put lets face it, you don't nick a plate for unless your going to do something with it.

Wont get it back, but report is ASAP to plod as theres a good chance it will be used for naughtyness by low life scum. Just cover your backside, you don't want to be pulled over by plod for "stealing" petrol.
Dunno why tesco wont help out, if the act was caught on CCTV and they cant be arsed to view it it shows a scant regard for the safety of customers and their property.

Yeah, report it to the police. That way, you'll at least get given a crime number. As you say, the main thing is to cover yourself in case it is used for something.

Is it only 1 plate thats gone missing? Good chance its just meddling kids. When someone wants to "clone" your car for petrol theft e.t.c they take both of them.

cheers guys, am off to get it sorted now, i wouldnt have minded so much if they had just kicked it over or even nicked the bloody thing - its such a pita getting no plates now and ill be off the road till a new one arrives !! and in broad daylight too !! cheeky b'stards  heres hoping they get bummed by a hundred, no, make that a thousand sex starved arabs for giving me hassle i just don't need !! unless they like that sort of thing i guess, then a broken bottle kicked up their  should do nicely instead  will stop moaning now, off to see the police man thanks all |

I had this happen to me with an old MG metro,i reported it to the police who were quite helpful.They put you on the data base for 3 months.Which means you get stopped a few times(worth keeping ID on you and the crime number)I got stopped 4 times,while they do the checks but it covers your .In fact i got stopped by the same copper twice who reconised me from when he stopped me before as soon as i got out of the car he said its ok mate i remember you and drove off. |

As stated report it as being taken from the car to keep you right.
If you are replacing the plate try using a new plate that shatters if someone tries to nick it or use grub screws which are difficult to get off.

reported, told i'd be lucky to get it back - like i didnt already know that!! told it'll be illegal to ride without one then...... i get a feckin producer !! FFS, i honestly don't know why i bothered, now i gotta take time out of work in a borrowed car to take my docs down there when they have all the info on b'stard computer anyway ! am i the criminal here ?? is it for having a motor vehicle or for having the cheek to report a theft ?? stupid stupid stupid |
