Standby for rant
That bloody Ford Kugar ad is now beginning to really boil my p**s. It's now officially more annoying than any car advert ever apart from those old BL ones that had Noel Edmonds in them, and that's only because they had Noel Edmonds in them.
You know the add. It starts with that annoying "bing, bing bing" then goes on to dribble on and on about how wouldn't it be great to start from a blank sheet of paper.
WTF. Yes it would, but Fords blank sheet of paper obviousl came pre installed with current EU vehicle design regulations. Add on the need to build it on an existing Ford world platform, use existing Ford engines, suspension, trim parts etc then just how bloody blank are they trying to tell us this piece of paper is.
grrrrrrrrrrrr!
Oh and that damn floaty Volvo ad too, "look your new volvo is so light and floaty it must have virtually no effect on the planet. Look, look it's pooing baby bunny rabbits.
c0ck.

It's just another one of those 'global' ads which mean nothing to everyone. Grim.
This one is the worst ever, aside from the gurning smug prick at the wheel, it sets the SW Highlands of Scotland in the Austrian Alps. Brilliant!

yeah, that ford ad really annoys me, if you're starting with a blank canvas how do you end up with something that looks so much like every other people carrier/4x4 whatever the curse word it is and then there's the mondeo one, everyone getting rid of their cars because of this wonderful new mondeo which rolls into shot in all it's bland greyness glory WTF?

The one that makes my blood hit 212 degrees farenheit right now is the Volvo XC60 Crossover ad that's on every 7 minutes on Absolute Radio.. "Those annoying accidents that happen at under 20mph....can be a thing of the past thanks to Volvo's ground-breaking City Safety Technology" Now I know this seems to be an alien concept to most of the sort of people who drive such overweight lumps of shoooite, but why not try this simple mantra: "LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING, YOU YUPPIE F**KWIT" It's all academic, we're all doomed and going to Hell in a handcart, but WTF.....it made me feel better for 0,002 seconds.

Isn't it just a Nissan underneath? That's hardly a blank canvas.
If it isn't, it certainly bloomin' looks like one!

No, those adverts are as nothing to the annoyance of that late 1990s Peugeot 406 advert where the bloke saves the little girl from the sideways artic.
Talk about played to death. It was a decade ago and I still find it annoying.

That Peugeot "chuck in your polluting dirty old car for a brand new, squeaky-clean one" makes me shout at the TV every time it's on. I think the thing that really annoys me is people WILL fall for it

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

they don't aim car ads at people who like cars, they aim them at everyone else cos they know anyone into cars isnt gonna be swayed by ads anyway, they're all annoying, made to appeal to people who can sit through films made for "An American Audience" without their eyes exploding and letting they're frontal lobes dribble out through the holes, just don't watch telly, that works for me, only goes on about 4 times a week, for specific programs.

There's an annoying Renault van one on the radio. "My daddy says if I do this ad, they won't have to pay a proper grown up talkie person, and they can pass the savings onto the customers". Something like that anyway.

That Volvo XC90 ad is the biggest load of wibblepoo ever.
don't forget that most car ads since since the year 0 have been complete curse word, they're just trying to fool your brain into thinking your old car is useless and you HAVE to own the new one on the telly. To keep ahead of the competition they have to come out with more and more fantastic curse word.
That said, I do LIKE new cars and id probably have one if I could afford one, mainly for safety and refinement reasons. The main reason I have old motors is I'm a cheapskate.
