Gutting.
It saddens me to think that this crime must be 'in scene'. Ringers and/or buyers of cheap stolen parts should hang their heads in shame.

highly unlikely to be some opportunist... stolen from a secure lockup that has a caretaker on duty. and they used gas to cut the locks off... really sad to think nothing is safe if someone decides they want something that isnt theirs.... be hard to hide a car like this tho, its pretty unique and very very well known in the scene

What worries me is that it will either end up as parts or be sold abroad never to be seen again. Happens to a lot of minis because they are so popular in Japan

nobody blamed banger racers yet? You are slipping.
Makes me very sad to see this sort of thing. As said probably stripped for parts or given a new ID off eBay and sold abroad

dunno, theres plenty of people see nothing wrong with buying/selling log books and chassis plates on eBay etc. so you could ring it pretty easy. All Lotus Cortinas are that colour, many have Minilights. Just change some of the more obvious identifying details and punt it on as a fresh restoration... too easy, and if its cheap too easy for a lot of people to avoid asking awkward questions.
