The original Donny Show.... Was on last weekend, and back to the original format. There were still a few Max Power type cars but they were parked up out of the way. Photos of them are included for completeness, and 'cos some people here may like that sort of thing. Lots of bikes, lots of cool cars, and proper cool ones too. The indoor show was 100% quality tin from edge to edge and the outisde parking area was full of cool machinery too. Lots of photos to follow.... first lot coming up. More will be added later... I'm going to start with the outside cars, the WTF??? stuff and the hatches. Come back later for the inside show cars and "Best in Britain" stuff. There was a small (?) display of customised yankee haulage stuff, imagine this thing belting down the M1 pulling a matching trailer.... Tasteful murals are popular and huge turbo diesels This truck is more our standard fare, right? This Capri has the look aced And a V8 Dunno what these guys were on, but there was a whole lineup of 4x4 J-tin pickups and SUV with wild mural paint. Must be a South Yorkshire thing. And this van is apparently owned by Nobby At last, proper rods! Ant Hill Mob stylie. This rocks Where were you in '62? and all that... Model Y with SBC Tidy install. Big shoe horn B sedan That thing got a Hemi in it? Yeah Fake snake Real LS1 I'm at a loss to where to start on this. I know I should hate it but I just can't help lovin' it. Pro-street droop snoot HB 1600 Racey Fez Modern but interesting rides Gran Torino in not-Starsky&Hutch clone shocker!!!!! I love this car I secretly masturbated over it when nobody was looking. OK, I lied about that. C'mon, someone give us some Corsa love!!! Not as clean as PaulMi16's one... Longbed Lurve Thor's VWV8 Reliant pickup With bike engine Alien vs Predator mural tractor Turbo Vette Stunning. Know what it is? No? Not common. But lovely. Its... a MkV Jag. TVR Hmmm... 1980s Suzuki hatchback. Fire engine. "South Yorkshire Fire Brigade Demo at 2pm". Reckon this is a convertible now? LOL Shame, cos appart from a muddy kick mark on the front wing it was tidy. coming next... the Max Power stuff....

OK, there was a fair lineup of Scoobies and the like, but they all looked pretty ordinary so no pics there, what I did snap was the local modded hatch stuff. Love it or hate it? I like Gen 6 Celicas. Mrs Akku had one. Very competant cars. Ours didn't look like this I believe the inspiration for this Punto was Darth Vader's helmet. The one on his head, mucky! BMW with Ferarri inspired venty things Hot Neon? Now in the US there are some proper quick ones. No idea if this is or not. The idea interests me though... But I am frequently full of poor ideas. Seen a pretty much stock Neon SRT4 run 13s though. They yanks have taken them to 11s for sure, and probably quicker. Not bad for FWD grandma car. Bad Boi Beemer Rover's fog lamps appear to have a squint! Despite myself, I kinda like this. It looked even pinker in real life. Got to dash now, but a pile up of SERIOUS OOOOF is coming to this thread! And the most OOOF in one building in South Yorkshire in the history of OOOOF '08 YOWSERS!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Saturday was rubbish in comparison. bums was busy rallying a Escort Sunday. That Prelude is from a deaf college or summat, turning it into a Ferarri rep! they did this exercise too:

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Judging by the quality of vehicles there, i'm looking forward to the main event in April next year.
I thought they were banning the Max Power stuff due to them having their own show a couple of weeks before.
Good to see the old show back, but lets keep the Max Power brigade at their own show.

I remember going to the Custom Car shows at the Racecourse with my dad "when I were a lad!" Nice to see it back. Some top stuff there.

These style of things, like this 'ere Ford "Zipster" are not really my bag, but this one was really well done. Yes, its the one seen reflected in the black F100 a couple of posts ago! FlamBe'd Matt, this was the fleetside I was reffering to earlier... Nice it most denintely is. I'd still take the F100 though. This Willys is the bomb. Recent feature car and in with the BiB cars. Thats the ticket, oh yes. beauty of a GTO Novas Flatmobile Ford Fanny Mopar or no car... More later, Best In Britain and some more trad rods and kustoms, choppers, street fighters, trikes, etc.

I preffered that Willys when it was on steels, flipper caps and wide whites. Cool unusual mild custom. That Daimler hemi powered rod rings bells from many moons ago. The body/colour combo at least. I presume tha "Thor" of the mid engineed VW is the same guy who had the Riviera local to you Akku?
