see what i did there...? its a schwinn. i crax me up. i got this at a farmers market on saturday. totally did not expect to find a bike and this was apparent when trying to stuff it into the car with 4 people as well, and my mum buying some shelf unit too... anyhow, i got it from a traveller and it cost less than a bad night out. less than the taxi home from the bad night out in fact. less than the double shots on a... lol.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

yeah I was gonna say the forks look bent.
To be honest I can't believe its in that condition for a bike that age.
Still its in the correct hands now.

Still its in the correct hands now. i wouldn't be so sure it's in the right hands lol. aye i saw the forks were bent, but seriously, it's a bit of pipe. and the wheel obviously has to go... still can get stingray branded tyres easy enough. the paint i think i'll leave as is, and take a bit of brasso to the chrome and shine it up. after that the only thing left is some rassy grips to get and really could do with a new saddle...

How do the forks attach to the CROWN? I reckon its a great opportunity to replace the bent fork legs with some insanely long ones!! Maybe even chop thehead tube angle to be even more layed back than standard to match? Fun to be had there

I think I might have a similar set of forks in the back at work that will "do the trick" for a replacement. In fact, most halfords will - Get a set of forks for a Shockwave Xt900/920/950/975. Big heavy crocks of wibblepoo, but they look the part and every halfords store will have atleast half a dozen cannibalised bikes in the warehouse that they will be eager to sell you parts from, more than likely for £14.99

The fork legs are held in the yokes by clamp bolts, just like a motorbike fork. The Schwinn has a long steerer tube. So might be difficult fitting second hand forks to them. Shockwaves are shocking wonder if there made out of hair mouse. As the metal isnt very good :/

Yeah I would clamp the fork leg in a vice and slip a scaffold tube on there and push it .
