Well my turbo imp made it all the way to RCS and back again with out one cough splutter or even slight problem! My ear defenders were a god send though, made a lot of people laugh at me on the motorway! Hope everyone had a good weekend, i thought it was again a very good show.
Cheers

We checked out your car early on, when it was in the camping area...it brought a smile to my face! I'm pleased it performed for you too. It's a big thumbs up for home-brewed turbo systems! ;D
How noticable was the difference in performance over the non-turbo'd guise?

Hi there blownimp, welcome to the forum
Your car looked great at RCS. Did you run it on the strip?

on the way to RCS i wasnt running any boost so the performance was effectivly the same as standard. On the way home though i pulled it up on boost a couple of time, i couldent resist! Only 2-3psi but made a BIG difference, pulls hard! I cant drive it in anger untill its been on the rolling road, thats why i coulent go down the strip today, that and the oil leaks!
I had no idea that the car was so notorious (sp?), untill i arrived. Not too used to people taking an interest in my curse word box!
Still lots to do, best start making a list!

ello jimbo! well impressed with the turbo not only does it make an un-godly noise and when set be fast as fook but it is a full blown willy magnet! i even tryed to walk past it a couple of times and before i knew it i was stood by it having another look. So whens the retro cars feature?

Was yours to imp that toasted the 306 Dimma rally car. At Pug meetings that car get totally covered in sp**k (ooh nice image). Nice to see an imp totally blitzing it! (and that's from a Pug fan!!)

Think the Imp that beat the rally Pug down the strip was Simon Bennoys spaceframer.

Unfortunatly not, couldent get it on the strip (50% me not wanting to untill its set up and 50% curse word oil out from every orifice on the engine, its ok its meant to do that!). Infact i missed the imp blitzing the pug, was it orange? If so I'm not really suprised, if there were corners i recon that orange imp would eat everything there alive! MMMmmm spaceframe, I want so bad!

well it does need a paint job, I'm tempted by gulf colours, light blue and orange stripes.
Ive run it up again today and slightly close the exhaust housing down, starts boosting at 2krpm now. Ive got an external wastegate to go on, its the best way to control the boost. I'm going to start another thread on that turbo as ive realised its the best one for a one off turbo project.
