Brilliant! I’m a bit sceptical about doing the whole lower half in primer though, not when the existing paintwork is original and OK! Otherwise you are guilty of the same crime as the twit who attacked NickB’s Marina!
Super-cool car though, I salute you.

Had a question about the chequers on the bonnet.
Just in case anyone else was wondering, I made it myself....its 2inch reflective tape, sliced down the middle, then cut across at 1inch intervals, alternate squares removed, masking tape placed over the top, backing removed, placed onto bonnet, then masking tape removed, then the third row of squares individually placed by hand - took bloody ages!

I 'found' it in the back of the garage. It was originally all black plastic-coated tubing, apart from the aluminium corner pieces. I got a load of chrome tubing from B&Q, then lengthened and widened the whole rack a bit, then got some hardwood cut to length for the slats and treated them with preservative. Oh, and polished up the aluminium a bit too. Fitted it all back together with some heat-shrink on the ends of the pipes for a tight fit, and voila! Roofracks Must be one of those European things
