carpets! Cant find anything other than house carpets which i presume would be too stiff on the back to mould around gearbox tunnels etc.. Basically, I want to get some REALLY thick and comfy black carpet in my capri. I don't want a tailor made £500 set, I just want a roll of carpet long enough for me to cut it into the relevant shapes needed, does anyone know where I might be able to source some? Doesnt have to be actual shag pile just very thick and comfy looking! ;D mmmmmmmm... Oh yeah.......

Brill, cheers mate! Anymore pics of the carpet? How did you attach it? Just underneath trim etc. and tightened down? Looks the bees knees

A carpet shop fitter fitted it in the car?

Nice one if so!
I had real bother with house carpet in cars before. As said its usually a bit too stiff to follow the contours of the transmission tunnel etc (OK if you have a full length console I guess) and its surprisingly tough stuff to cut, leading to plenty of "OOPS!" knife slipping incidents.
You can get various grades of household carpet and some will work better than others, but IMO I reckon you're best off buying the proper car stuff

i want 2" deep luxury cream shagpile in the coupe eventually so if i can get it fitted by someone else thats great, might have to make lift up panels in the wings (like Bristols have) for people to put their shoes in.

I would say a something with a felt back would be easier to fit. The pros who do car interiors use steamers to fit and stretch carpets. Don't know how it would work using house carpet.
I wouldn't advise the use of a foam backed carpet even though it would be more flexible, because if it got damp it would stick to the flooring and disintegrate.
