I have just purchased this car to fill the empty space the Lada had left in my life! Its an amazing car to drive - 3 speed auto, 2ltr engine. It has only 35,000 miles on the clock and feels like it is only a couple of years old! Suggestions, comments welcome, especially on the wheels - not sure what to do. I was thinking - gloss black on the rims, leaving the trim ring and centre cap chrome?

Nice. Always wondered if those large Mazdas feels slow with only 2 litre engine?

I think: LEAVE IT STANDARDZ

Feels reasonable pokey, remember its nowhere near as heavy as a volvo + it has 103bhp. Got a little sideways on a small roundabout today when the kickdown activated halfway round! As for leaving it standard, I am with you on that - for now. I keep remembering how undriveable the Lada was!

Great purchase! You will struggle for snazzy wheels though as these cars have a UNIQUE PCD! I suggest avoiding pointless titivating though as it looks great as it is.
I would bosh up a pic of my 929 wagon but the pork swallowers at 'image cave' have disabled my account.

Plenty of Dinatrol rust proofing & a nice layer of wax polish!

Great purchase!
The two tone really sets it off, obviously a subltle drop on the suspension would work nicely though!

I like these, just the right amount of Japanese faux-yank chintziness without being disgustingly large & overbearing. Great tat-hauling ability too. I'd be well up for one if (a) there was less wheel obscureness (b) more speed available and (c) no impending threat of having to sleep in it once I got it home....
SUMMARY: Great result.

Its soooo comfy! It has power steering, electric windows, central locking (the type where you have to get in first and push a switch!) It does feel big though compared to the Lada.

Lower! And as for the wheels....."wobble bolts of certain death" ftw!

Shiney wheels and shiney paint. Slight drop would look good but might kill the ride. Stick a pop top on it and go camping.

Would look good if you just keep the tu-tone in good condition, black steelies with chrome trim as you said, and a slight lowering (not extreme as in un-driveable).
