Excuse the dire quality of the pics, didn't realize the g/f's old phonecam was so bad ..... 9x16" Borbet T's front and back, should look better painted black and a little more lowering Unfortunately I've only managed to get 2 9" wheels, the others are only 7.5" but they'll be OK on the front for now (with spacers) until I can get hold of another couple of wide ones - maybe the same design, maybe not, depends what turns up

A quick couple of coats of satin black to the centres and they're looking a lot better...... Excuse the overspray but the masking tape decide not to stick but I figured as I'll be going over the lip with a scotchbrite pad then it doesn't matter too much

Thats hard as nails. Looks great on the new wheels too. But in my humblest I reckon it would look eleventy billion times better with the loss of the picnic table and a stock front bumper.

Thats hard as nails. Looks great on the new wheels too. But in my humblest I reckon it would look eleventy billion times better with the loss of the picnic table and a stock front bumper. Somebody said the exact same thing to me the other weekend I like the BGW look and, to me anyway, it looks like something is missing without out - the back end needs something there as it's quite thin because of the angle of the boot. The sides of the bumper are being trimmed down so it might look a bit less bulky but the std bumper doesn't suit it anymore - I've got one in the garage, might have to swap it over to show how wrong it would look. So, continuing the iron cross theme (rear view mirror, valve caps), here's something else people may or may not like........ still undecided myself

They work..... Still can't get to grips with your logic on the bootlid, the bgw sits so high that it doesn't change the look of the boot slope at all. What about lowering it a la do-luck r34?

Got the rear view mirror from the states - APC Iron Cross MirrorHad to make up an adaptor so I could mount it from the roof as it's designed to fix to the screen with some strange 'universal' system that only the american use - didn't fancy gluing something to the screen as there's a fair bit of weight in the mirror. It vibrates quite a lot, is difficult to use because of the shape and I keep hitting my head on one of the corners - but I still like it Had to get some more - the 7.5's at the front were just gay. struggling to find a kitten for the pic, might be able to manage a grumpy old cat.

That looks the dogs, fella - even the rear spoiler kinda suits it. Front end looks well 'ard - I'd move over it if appeared in my rear view mirror!

Got the wheels for a bargain price but they have a strange way of mounting, which requires a Kerscher Unifit System.... at £30+ per wheel Knew about this when I bought them but, as I think a lot of people on here would, though I'm sure I can sort something out myself and I'm not paying that amount for a bit of ally, a spigot ring and some wheel nuts. By chance I've got some spigot rings the right size, which is a good start. The mouting face is quite thick so the studs only just come through so I though that sleeved bolts might work but they're just a little too big. So, I'm going to make up the ally mounting flange (out of 10mm plate) but haven't decided whether to put a 60degree taper on the holes and use std wheel nuts or drill the holes out and use the sleeved nuts. either way I think I'm going to need longer wheel studs, which is annoying as i've just fitted longer ones for the spacers Done a little work to the front bumper - Before with the sticky-out bits.... and after a little cutting, drilling, riveting and filling we have.... I think I managed to get both sides the same and looks loads better. Still working on the sideskirts - it's proving difficult to get them looking the same but I'm getting there. Might have a problem with ground cleanance though..... 50mm Still, it's not going to be an everyday car or practical in anyway - just have to choose my routes well. More bodywork, this time the nose cone area above the headlights. Spent ages last year getting them nice and flat (it's a fibreglass replacement panel) then fitted the bonnet back on and shut it only to find it has a slight curve to it over the headlights Not much but enough to really notice the gap. Cue more fibreglass and filler to bring them to the same level and some thick card to get the shut lines equal (cardboard in gap, filler up to card, remove card - clean even shut lines).... I'm quite proud of this 'bodge'.... The door locks have been playing up - drivers side barely locks and the other not at all. The drivers side just needed a rod bending to give a bit more movement. But on the passenger side a clip had broken so the rod wouldn't stay on the barrel (the green bit)... Couldn't find the spare lock i've got (i'm sure there's on somewhere in the house, shed, attic or garage), so to improvise I used a large ring terminal, clamped to the rod with the ring behind the lever which should stop the rod working loose Oh, and I've been thinking about some kind of Boso(ish) exhaust. Seen these which i like... looks like a DTM but it's quite a bit bigger - that's 80mm pipe or a local exhaust fabricators has these, which I'm sure I could do something with... 85mm OD, 330mm long.......

So how do the wheels mount then,to need all that rubbish?
50MM is tad more than the clearance i have between the Celica downpipe/exhaust and the floor due to the g/box x member.......which is annoying as it means i can't really make full use of the adjustable ride height!

Under the centre cover instead of 4 holes (or five or whatever) it's got the same pattern as you find on those cheap universal wheel spacers. You then buy a flange with the right PCD which bolts over the top. Sounds a bit dodgey but they're a german firm so it's all been TUV approved

Ahh right,so that's why you need such long bolts. Not a bad idea really, universal pcd with just the adapters needed.

i like it, love the front, but then i have a thing for angry looking cars, only thing I'm not fussed by is the spoiler, think it looks a bit new for such an old car, reckon a 70s yank muscle car type spoiler would be more fitting

Cheers, at least a few people appreciate it the bootlid picnic table isn't to my taste but I really like the rest of the car.. it looks even better now than when it was shiney especially like the lights, are they the regular irmsher double lights just without the covers or have you used different lamps? (edit) forgot to write, the front looks much better without the side bulges, makes the car look leaner / meaner
