Pretty much what has been said already, mine has done 110,000 and still doesn't use much oil, the belts are not that hard to do yourself and you can buy the cam locking tools with the cash you save for paying for labour. Also, mine is far better on fuel than the figures would suggest. Headlights are RUBBISH.
Look at the interior trim, there are a various levels, and the Momo leather is gorgeous.

I had a 3.0 V6 GTV for a while, it had a full stainless mangoletsi exhaust on it and not cat, sounded the nuts, I couldn't help but gun it everywhere I drove, guarenteed orgasm at the turn of the Key. Well something had to make up for the shocking reliability, right?? You know what they say though, your not a true petrol head until you've owned an Alfa. That'll be a tick in the box then.

Just my tupence worth, serviced a 1.8 T spark few months back, plugs were a tenner each so there's 80 notes before I bought oil & filters ! MAF sensors are some silly price from Alfa (£270 rings a bell ?) but same sensor with warranty on ebay can be had for 30-60 quid depending on the model ! I do love the tan leather you get in some & their general quirkyness which you just don't get from all the other manufacturers.

Just to add my 2p..I've had my 2001 2.0TS for 3 years and I love it! Apart from the immobiliser being able to kill the battery after sitting idle for any more than a week it's been 100% trouble free, with none of the problems that seem affect some of them. Having said that, servicing is not cheap to do properly, with the full timing belt/variator/tensioner job being about £500 when I did it last year. I'd heartily recommend one, but make sure it's been well looked after as one that's been run on the cheap will only bring tears.

Ah, forgot to add that bit, the alarm on mine was tempremental. Its mounted above the N/S front wheel. Unbolting and throwing away fixed the problem. The car still looks the same, the red light on the dash still flashes, the deterrant is still the same.
