Good on yer for walking away mate - I'm sure there's a load of us gotten into grief using the old - 'well I came all this way' rule I've been REALLY lucky buying blind a couple of times - but shot myself in the foot when I can actually SEE the wog plastered on One will show up, serendipity n all that.

Cheers guys I'm quite proud of myself for going 'head over heart' and not buying it anyway. Yep that's a result. Damage limitation and all that...

You did the right thing walking away! 4 months ago I went upto York to look at an Alpine - 10 hour round trip on the train and £150 in fares and I was only there for 15 minutes!!! The car was supposed to have been completely restored by a reputable Sunbeam Alpine specialist. It had been 'restored', but it was the biggest botch job in history and there's no way I'd have touched it with a barge pole! There were receipts for £6000 for this supposed restoration from this Alpine specialist - surfice to say I won't be going to them for anything!

I think this is the reason we need to organise a Retro Rides car viewing section. I'd be more than happy to check out local cars to save people travelling long distances and been disappointed. Matt I second that, I've done it a couple of times for people on here before now. Be patient, JS!!! Great things will come to those who wait!

Bumhats Johnny, i know how excited you were about it, its a shame you sold the wagon on the word of some clown mis-selling a car.
Live and learn i guess- and more rare Dattos to go at yet ;D

Good luck, only Cedrics here are are the older shapes (1960-1975) the only ones Johnny is looking for (if there are any) will be recent imports from Japan. Not true, they were badged as 260/280/300C though (after '68?) & we were getting a version into the mid eighties, and while we never received the 4-dr hardtops we did get a Very few 2-dr hardtops of that particular 70's style. (A friend has a 4-dr hardtop Cedric though his father bought new in Japan & imported personally ) & I seen another once or twice. Ohhhh?? Does he want to sell it?

So, you've sold a car, you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, summers almost gone and you're feeling intoxicated off about being let down! sounds like the perfect ingrediants to get creating something awsome for next year to me

That's a 230, not a 330, and that's going to work out at around 6k once its here and Customs cleared.

Yeah but it's Brown with a white vinyl roof and it has slotted wheels.
Surely that has to count for something.....

I could live with that one! LOL
There's something about the lines of a 330 that are just SO damn cool. Love the 'pinch' swage lines on the bonnet & bootlid, mmmmmmmmm
