Well, me & SWMBO drove the 4hrs down to devon on monday for a 'holiday' that just happened to include me buying a Cedric LOL. Spent a lovely couple of days doing 'holiday' stuff. All good. Didnt come home with a Cedric though All i'll say on the matter is that this guys idea of 'a little rust on the arches and doors' was a bit of a BIG NAUGHTY HORRIBLE LIE. The bloody thing was hanging! Every panel was shot, every door, the bootlid, both bumpers, missing trim, missing badges, fuel gauge didnt work, temp gauge didnt work, windows didnt wind all the way down, needed new tyres all round, etc etc etc etc.... The guy wanted £1500! Which, I was prepared to pay if it was 'as described It was a 500 quid car tops which is exactly what I offered him, but, and I quote: "Ill banger it for that" So, off to the oval it goes unfortunatly Just peeved off I sold my wagon on the word of someone that I heard good things about. Lesson learned, trust no one. So, if anyone hears of a Cedric for sale, lemmie know pleeeease. I'm off to cry (in my head) now

Is there no way you can buy your wagon back? Even if it perhaps means paying a little more than you sold it for?

Yep, as HW says, import one from JP or the sunny colonies. They've got plenty. And if you get one from NZ it won't have any rust. Probably.
I've got a mate in Oz at the mo, I'm sure he could track one down for you.

Sorry to hear about that. Import a 4dr Hardtop,.. I know some trustworthy people in Japan that can source a good one. Well, its just one of them things i guess. True, I'm well peeved off but life goes on. I'd LOVE to import a 4dr HT but...a little problem in the fact that i don't have 5-figure sums lying around doing nothing Is there no way you can buy your wagon back? Even if it perhaps means paying a little more than you sold it for? Nah, its gone and thats that. I'll find something. Tempted to go blow the whole lot on a new Guitar & amp though

That doesn't suck, that swallows. Happened to me once as well, drove over 1,500 miles to look at a Jaguar.. turned out to be rust free all right, the twit owner had used a 55 gallon drum of filler in it.
Furious wasn't the word.....

I've got a mate in Oz at the mo, I'm sure he could track one down for you. Good luck, only Cedrics here are are the older shapes (1960-1975) the only ones Johnny is looking for (if there are any) will be recent imports from Japan.

Similar story with the very first MR2 I went to look at, luckily I only had 10 miles to go and scout this one, almost worth the money (795ono iirc) but nowt like the glamorous description, however it did plant the seed in my head and months later I had a free one that would go on to cost me well over a grand LOLz! no regrets tho as I've got another now to play with my experiences. Thing is these kinda cars are riddled with rust, expensive parts, and coming soon... scene tax, unless you find a good egg like your two red old Dattowz. oh and sellers are often pushing for max profit, or so ignorant they know nowt about their stocks. Don't give up, go get the car you are so enthusiastic about, it will turn up.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Out of curiosity.. what model Cedric was it? And now that I think about it... my Yellow Velox was the same way, jerk seller lied about very specific questions I asked him about it, car is FULL of filler and very rotten. Although if you want LHD PAs in North America you aren't exactly spoiled for choice
