Driving "economically", and if I stick to 60mph on the motorway, then Uno averages a tad over 60mpg. If I do the same but drive at 70mph on m/way it does low to mid 50s. At 80mph its low 30s, 90+mph you'd be lucky to see over 15mpg.
Weird thing the other day though, the car literally ran out of petrol as I pulled onto the forecourt, bunged a fiver in, and did 78 miles (speedo showed 84, google maps showed 78).

Oxford with stock 1622 lump and single 1 1/4" SU best was 32ish Oxford with 1798 and twin 1 1/2" SUs was 35ish Herald floats around mid 30's as a rule, up to 40 sometimes. Best I've ever got was 48.5mpg out of our stock Herald 1200 estate on a run to Manchester.

Depending on how driven, my E30 318i(S engine) will do 40mpg driven gently on the motorway, and if being thrashed around, about 20-25, 8ishmpg drifting! I tend to aim as high over 30mpg as possible, being as much over 100 miles as possible to 18l.

The galant will do 7km to the liter around town but get it on the freeway or any nice wide road with an 80km speed limit and it'll get about 8.5 or 9km to the liter.
The last time i drove the 02 any great distance it had a blow head and i have no idea how me made it. Any way it has the wrong gear in the box so the speedo was wrong anyway (if it was doing 70mph it was doing about 70kmh! LOL). Who cares it's a race car and the twin 45s that are going in with the new motor i'm sure will be real fuel efficient.

240 gets average 25 mpg, thats town, short trips and A roads combined. On a run it will do just over 30 mpg I reckon. (2.3ltr)

mine averages 30mpg which aint bad for a brick shaped car running a 200bhp 2.9 considering the way i drive it, its undergeared, so should improve when the new axle is fitted.

After a bit of fine tuning and a few weeks on the road I have done a few sums and came up with a figure of 40mpg for my old chevette 1256, I use it to go to work which consists of a 3 miles through town then 10 miles on the open road, I found this quite suprising for a 30 year old car, my other daily hack is a vw sharan 1900 tdi the 90hp version and on the same run only manages about 36mpg. so with petrol cheaper than diesel the retro ride wins all the way. Interested to hear how many your retro ride can manage to the gallon.. I can't get 40 out of my Chevette (1256cc automatic) but probably down to autobox and my lardiness. I'd have thought early thirties most likely, maybe more on a good run just cruising. AX (959 cc or something like that) and 4 on the floor is getting into the forties without even trying. I reckon driven like a saint I'd see mid fifties no bother at all and probably more again. Merc 190E (2.0 manual) around 32-ish. Modern (Astra Mk4 1.6 16V) about 30-ish.

The Fiesta 1.1 van, my prob is I drive it 'enthusiastically' which I think you have to unless you are a town cruisin' granny, (even the GF knows where the 'powerband' is now. Also there is a whopping great hill on my main motorway, the highest on in Engaland, uk? world? so racing between 4th and 5th gear to get up over 70MPH cant be good for the wee 1.1 I think it works out general driving about 35+MPG which is why I like it, batter it, have fun, and still come back with good economy, plus never risk a ban on motorway !

i get 20mpg out of the van at 80mph probably nearer 30 if driven sensibly, but at 49p/litre for gas its loads cheaper than the golf at 35ish
i love the thought cruising past people on the mway, the van is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than 99% of cars - while i'm driving faster than them too :-)

Gah! I can't believe that Nightmare's ace van is more economical than my DIESEL Merc!!
That averages 27-28mpg, not helped by short gearing and chuff all power, so the loud pedal is always prodded quite hard. Maybe I should drive gently (and slowly!) and see if I can get it above 30...
2CV - anywhere between 40 and 54 depending on how mashed the throttle pedal is through the floor.

no pics but my old MG did as little as 10 mpg or less if driven really hard.
I once ran out of petrol about 10 feet from my house, I put a gallon in it and drove 3-4 miles to my local petrol station, and ran out again about 10 feet from the forcour.
There is a huge long hill near where i live and i swear the fuel gauge used to visably have dropped after caning it up the hill (and letting the needle settle!)
My modern (civic 56 plate) will do between 20 and 40 mpg with an average of about 33 mpg!
