Hi Alistair, JUST got back. Had the worse jouney ever back. 6 hours, traffic was terrible Yep the car is a 1990 so its pretty much the last of the first. I will take some pics tomorrow, but basically all seats are lap belts. There is no pillars to speak of to mount the upper diagnal point. The car is just all glass. As from mounting them from the roof the roof is just very thin single skin fibreglass. Nothing strong to mount to and the bolt would go all the way through. I only have 2 kids (a baby and a 4 year old) but nowdays all I'm doing is taxiing their friends/cousins about the Saab was a bit small trying to squeeze everyone in. Also I race r/c cars and trackside its superb. 2 seats folded down for a table, kettle on, its great. Looking around the mk2 version had normal belts, but the mountings are COMPLETLY different. Easy way would be just to sell it and get a mk2 as they still go for peanuts too, but i do prefer the looks of the mk1.

Sell it, buy a Mk2 transit minibus. Put some fully belted Mk5 transit seats in it. Job done.

Well the good news is ive found someone breaking this on E-Bay Its a phase 2 which from what I can make it was a limited edition with proper rear belts ;D Just felt in the rear pillars on mine and under the felt I have the threads ready to accept the bolts. Even better. Problem is the guy isnt replying to my messages so I cant contact him to get up there and take it all out The car is reall growing on me as a family car. Remind me of a mix between a Renault 21 and a Renault traffic. Both cars I like. Its ok performace wise, but I would like to improve the braking and suspension. the ride is very comfortable, but a bit wallowy (like the 21 estate was) and the brakes don't really give much feedback. The car is also sitting a bit too high for my daughter to get in so that also is going to be included in the suspension mods. I'm tonight rewiring it as I want leds all in the roof. The car has tinted windows anyway, but I'm tinting them some more. There is a lot of glass and no sunroofs or aircon. Hence it was like a greenhouse today.

Good justification for a slam job :-) Whereabout is the breaking one - maybe somewhere of here can help?

The one breaking is in Morden Surrey, however not too far from me. Thanks Tim. As there being a rusty Quadra, I'm afraid not. Completly Fibreglass body and a very well Galvanised 21 chassis mean these structurally go on forever. I looked under mine the other day and even after 18 years of abuse its like new. Not the slightest bit of corrosion. I think ive got to lower it, but need to know a bit more about what the suspension setup is. Looking briefly I think its pretty much a Fuego. If i can plop the shocks and springs off of one of them on I think it might be a cheap way of getting my ride height and improved cornering. Someone has already sent me a link of how to put a Renault 11 turbo on it.........Thanks, but I was trying to slow myself down in my old age
