Gaydon was good, but I don't think it should be held there next year, lets have somewhere different also the Heritage Motor Centre is good but being just British cars it was a little bit limited for people like me and the Honda and BMW owners, but something like the Haynes Museum has a large assortment of manufacturers . On the other hand, I would quite like to see Lydden Hill, and see the cars of RR being used on the track edit - as long as i can bring a karaoke system to the gathering, i don't care

I'm torn on this - on the one hand, I like watching track action. On the other, no matter where it was, I'd only be going for one day (I very rarely camp at shows), and the track suggestion *is* quite a hike for a single day's entertainment.

^^^ B&B FTW! Didn't Hotwire stop in a hotel on the Friday? You don't have to camp and to be fair, not everyone wants to either.

Hopefully with Lydden, we could have a lot more of our international forum users joining us to make for a more interesting multi-cultural atmosphere.

Lyddens too far for me I think. It would be great to have a track though.

To be honest, I would be happy to travel anywhere in the country also. Again, as said before, I did 450 miles this weekend... but thats all part of the experience imo, especially when you're in convoy with a few friends cruising down the motorway. For someone who loves driving, I like driving to where I'm going, its not a chore! It would be nice for some track action too, that made RR07 really but RR08 was still awesome. I vote Lydden or somewhere similar.

Hasnt the Haynes museum got its own track, or am I thinking of it kids mini-track. If it has would we be able to use it?
Any of the choices would be fine with me if its a weekend long event, isnt the journey in ya retro all part of it? Track action is defo a winner, the atmosphere with the sprints going on last year was fantastic.

I havent really got an argument to that, especially seeing how far some members travelled for the Gaydon show. Distance is always a consideration for people though.

Surely they could do some sort of 'Deal'... if we were hiring out the place, throw in the track for a few bob more

Out of the 3 I've voted for Yeovil purely for the fantastic drive through the Cotswolds I would have to make as the journey is just as important as the destination imho.

Have to agree spent nearly 8 hours driving on Sunday, had great fun joining in all the mini's crusing on their way to Mini in the Park and bumping into them again on the way home.

Cadwell is a nice place, but expensive and actually a long way from anywhere! I'm pretty sure Hotwire has suggested only Lydden because it is one of the few circuits which offers the space and track at anything like an affordable price.
If you want a central track thats easy to get to then why not Donnington? I bet it would be about the same price as Cadwell (donny trackdays are certainly always cheaper) But like any other major circuit getting a weekend time slot in the summer is very very very unlikely unless you have a LOT of money to splash around.
Of course there is always Bruntingthrope - cheap, large, central and has track space for autotest and sprint/trackday. Plus theres the Vulcan to have a nose at, and it was used for a VW meet this year as well as many informal club track days.
Hotwire I appologise for making suggestions when I know you'be already been thinking about this for a long time and will almost certainly have covered all these bases, I'm just thinking out loud!

How bad do you want it ;D There are more than a few people who aren't bothered about a track, me included. Been there done that. I don't even find it that entertaining to watch unless there's some proper racing involved. Perhaps a separate RR Trackday somewhere for those who want it? I'd still favour a central (or just North of) location for the show, not because I live in the Midlands, merely because it would give a level playing field for everyone else. If RR09 was held at Lydden then surely for the sake of fairness RR10 should be at Croft or Knockhill. HoTWire and Co. had a venue change forced on them this year by Mallory's managment for whatever reason, but shifting venues every year would hardly give the event chance to put permanent roots down. Just my £0.02.
