I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet. Anyone else paint them? Finished my first one today. Went for "horrifically random colours". The white on the face and shoulder pad was supposed to look dirty. It ended up just looking curse word, especially in the photos! And for some reason, the pink eye looks really different to the other one. It's fine on the actual model. Weird camera...:

I used to be one of those Games Workshop lurkers when I was at college.
I loved 40k and painted loads of figures, plus tanks and made scenery.
I was also mad about Dark Future (remember that, basically Mad Max strategic game), and was very unhappy when they axed it.

LOLz.
I've got a bunch of '40,000' stuff from when I was a lad. Went through a phase of doing really nerdlinger curse word.... warhammer, chess club, book group, jeez what a LOSER. No use to me now - question... is it worth owt (as I don't remember what it exactly is), or junk to hurl in the wheelie bin?

P-og, A lot of 40k stuff can be worth flea baying as it is so horrendously expensive!
My 1500pt army cost me over £200 and I gave up buying them a long time ago... God only knows what it would cost now?

I sold all mine on ebay recently. figures, tanks etc. its great ebay fodder I got over £140 for what I had (not alot) and it cost me next to nothing to list. it also makes for good "international" selling, majority of mine went to america or australia and it cost next to nothing to actually post. i used to like to paint mine my own colours and generally modify and make extra bits. i used to collect ultramarines and imperial guards, i used to collect the "special characters" not particularly play the games or anything

i was never into the games workshop stuff, however i did go in regularly to buy their paint. better than humbrol and tamiya, and there were a load more camo colours for painting my 1:35 panzer grenadiers.
