Easy way to give early avengers a bit of camber is use later tca's. I use the late model tca's in my 1975 Avenger, along with adjustable camber plates at the top. They are about 3/4 longer on each side.

I'm gonna get this to RRG14 if it kills me! Might even take it up the hill. I have no intention of driving the Lada from Ipswich to Prescott and back again, lol

So, finally got round to trying the Triumph Dolomite track rod ends. Old one on the left, dolomite one on the right Seem to fit rather well And the wheels seem to sit straight now

I've used Triumph ones on my 71 Avenger and even with a negative camber crossmember, they're still long enough.

Instead of looking crashed it now just looks like it's sneezed particularly hard and blown its wing off. Good work!

Hey Lookas I needed extra length from my track rod ends because I'm using an early MK1 steering rack with later (longer) MK2 track control arms. So the Triumph dolomite track rod ends were perfect

WOW what an epic read and l thought reading Lord of the Rings was hard enough haha sorry at least your pictures are far more interesting and as for the tease ending l was screaming Nooooo it cant be after all that hard work and dedication, but then in true Robocop/ 6million dollar man (depending on age) l was so relieved to see you at it again your Avenger should be in the next Marvell blokbuster simply wont die.... Right my point being your welding improved throughout the build which l took particular interest in as lm a total novice myself and Santa brought me a sealy gas/no gas welder for chrimbo (I'm using gas) l was wondering what thickness steel do you use for different areas of the body panels, floor, inner wing tops etc lm in the process of repairing (now don't laugh) a 88 Skoda Rapid and l have similar areas inner wing tops headlight supports and a small section on a sill yes l know the old jokes about skips etc doesnt ring so true with mine haha l do have a thread on here somewhere.. Any advice greatly appreciated good luck for RRG14 its my aim to be there 2 but lm not so sure... Cheers Nick

I'm not gonna laugh at your Rapid mate, I like them. Most of the steel I used was either repair panels, or cut from a 1mm thick partition robbed from a VW van. On strut tops and chassis legs etc, you need to go thicker, 1.5-2mm. Hope this helps dude

Cheers Nick I've been helping a mate on his Estelle over the past year, and it is made from such thin steel all over! It wasn't rotten, but involved in an accident requiring a replacement rear quarter from a donor car. I think 1mm/1.2mm should do for most of the bodywork, I think it's something like 0.8mm to start with! Structural bits should be thicker, minimum same thickness as original, though 1.5mm/2mm would be a good starting point like what Dave says
