Winter hasn't been kind to the poor old boy. Salt has attacked the new panels, due to the hasty manner in which it was prepared and and assembled. So a little kurust was required. Paint will follow when the light does

Developed a nasty rattle when cold. Best way I can describe it is that it sounds lie a diesel ford transit from inside the car. You know the sound?

Cheers dude. Think I'll be ok though. Checked the oil level, and it was bome dry, spitting out more oil than I thought. Topped it up, and it was sweet as a nut. Hopefully the new piston rings I have on order will cure the crank case preassurisation I'm getting

I'm back after a long absense, it's great to see her up and about, (has it really been that long,) I'm not liking these mutterings about rostyles, you really can't improve on her current wheels

Well yes, wider is always better, as long as it doesn't lead to stretched tyres or a hell of a gangster lean, (massive camber,) to tuck them under the arches

I don't do stretch, and I don't do crazy camber. I'll leave that for the cool kids

Been having some running issues lately, so I decided to replace the 42 year old distributor. A quick hunt on ebay, and I'd got me a reproduction Lucas 25D and a set of leads from Powerspark. The postman bought me a pressie this morning To replace this Which was slacker than a slack thing that's really slack I took out my electronic ignition gubbins, and popped it into the new dizzy Spiffy Put some lovely new leads on. And no, I didn't leave the coil lead running over the top of the choke cable A little video for you, I can't believe I sound like that, lol

Sweet. I'll probably upgrade to this sort of thing on the Princess one day, not today like, but one day. You'll have to let us all know whether or not you see an improvement with fuel consumption and cooling over the previous system.

I've been running the electronic ignition for a while now, and it's brilliant, it was only the 42 year old dizzy that let it down. Since switching from points I've noticed smoother running, better throttle response and it seems to pull better, probably due to the lovely fat spark you get. I'd recommend it to anyone. The ignition I have is accuspark, and required a little modification to fit the powerspark dizzy because the lobes on the shaft are slightly bigger than the standard 25D. All in all, well worth the money. Both accuspark and powerspark do ready converted dizzy set ups that come with a swanky red rotor arm and an uprated coil and are stupidly easy to fit. Big thumbs up from me It's not given any improvement on fuel yet, because I've not got the carb and timing set up properly

25D lucas is the same distributor as used in pre crossflows right? if so how much did this kit set you back? love the whole story of the car and i much prefer the unfinished paintwork look (much because I'm the same haha) keep up the good work

The dizzy was £30 and the module was £40 Think you can get a ready converted one for £60
