A small update. Workshop time cut short due to dramatic spouse (not mine) Spent most of tonight making the panel fit properly and re-shaping the line of the wheelarch. Once I got it in place, I started bridging the gap left by the rot I had to cut out More to come, as soon as I can get to the workshop

This is a far cry to where you were not so long ago with this one and it's *great* to see you making some progress on eliminating the grot. When my brother helps me with my cars, his dramatic spouse often cuts work short, but it has the added advantage of making me learn to do stuff myself... not so much the case when you're trying to get welding done I guess.

Loving this thread, My mum's first car was a gold 4 door avenger, PEV 200K I have fond memories of it, so its great to see one being returned to the road.

Cheers guys. It's a shame I had to cut out so much on that side because bridging the gap is a pain in the bum. If the muppet I bought it from had done something other than stuff it full of news paper and filler, I wouldn't be correcting his bodges

Funny you should mention that. Been up there tonight doing exactly that. Other side should be much easier due to the lack of gaps. In other news, got me some new bits Spax adjustable coilovers of unknown origin. Not height adjustable sadly, but hopefully will provide some drop Need to look up this number at some point

So, here we are again. Stripped and cleaned the rear brakes because they were stuck so hard it was like trying to push a car with it's handbrake on. Didn't get any pictures, because it's boring and mundane. This is where the action is Tacked the N/S lower rear quater into place, after making it fit. All welded up, lovely jubbly Pulled the radiator out in preparation for work on the front end. Also changed the exhaust manifold for a later model that flows a bit better, and started mocking up for a Weber conversion

So, tonight I hacked out the rotten panel that sits below the radiator Then the manky end of one of the chassis legs Have a picture of the grot I cut out And the awesome NOS one that's going in it's place I found a hole on the inner wing, So I welded the mofo. You can almost see the repair to the chassis leg that I forgot to take a picture of.

Looking good Dave I have a single 40 webber on an avenger manifold with brand new K&N filter for sale if your interested still keep finding stuff I want rid off as I am going down to 1 Avenger from 3.

Thankfully, once I've rebuilt that chassis leg, I can get the inkwell panel in, sort out the headlamp panels and get the front valence on. Then it's just floors and sills
