Now it's almost road worthy, fingers crossed it will be MOT by the end of the week! A bit nostalgic, I know, but I passed my driving test in one of these and when I saw it on flea bay, and only 5 miles away I had to have it. It needed a couple of bulbs, indicator switch (which was an of a job to find)! ARB bushes and two plats welding......... I hope. ;D E bay picture, and yes all the others cars next to it were 4 sale also! Back home b4 the work starts. I really WANT, NEED so rostyles for it! After a quick wash and polish and all the work done we have this. Plans are to dump it in the weeds, find some wheels and use it as my daily until winter and then the fun begins.Need to sort out the paint, a bit thin in places. Got a red top calibra with full leather that I conned outta of my brother for nothing, which will happily give up its innards!

Sailed through MOT, knocked up over 4000 miles already (Blackpool and back twice, RR08 and daily run to work)! Can't fault this car, can't bring myself to change a thing, so just going to tidy up the paint and hit it with a proper stick. The front has had 2 coils chopped out but still not enough. Found some rostyles for it, ready for banding, hopefully any day now. Once i have the wheels sorted i can work out how low i can go, want it LOW! Been running around on some VW golf steels rattled canned, which was better than the MK3 astra rims that it came on. A coulpe of photos of how it stands at the moment. Before wheels and stadard springs Front dropped, VW rims and plastic trims How can i swap this for leather......... can't Be selling the Calibra soon as not need anymore!

My first Vauxhall(2nd car) was almost identical. Sweet memories. A totally ragged 1.6 manual that ate gearboxes and ended up with Manta GTE front bumper and 6....yes 6 spotlights and rostyles of course! It looks much better lower.

Have a new set of wheels to play with but I'm undecided at the moment, 8.5j 13in banded rostyles. These babies The tyres are 185/60x13, nice stretch and fits the wheel quite well i think but they are to small for the car. I have also tried 206/60x13 but they look almost like the same, they just don't fill the wheel arch up even when dropped . Next step would be go up to 185/7013 but i think they wouldn't fit the wheels. Any ideas?

If its low enough it'll look the absolute business with the wide rostyles.

That ascona looks mint! Thanks madmaxx for posting that. I'm just going to have to hit it with a proper stick i think. The wheels i got banded by Jamesp on the forum give him a pm and i'm sure sure he'll point ya in the right direction.

Saw this in the flesh last week - it's AWESOME! As I pulled into Chris' drive I couldn't help but let out an OOF when I saw it. The banded rostyles just look amazing and the stance is spot on. You can't really make out the level of poke in the photos - but it's great. The best bit though - the interior. It's red. It's very red. It's gorgeous! It's been quite funny reading through this thread and seeing how it started - kinda working backwards for me because my first encounter was seeing it as it is in the last photo. Chris, are you gonna spill the beans on what is parked where the Calibra is in this photo?

I managed to take a snap of this beauty as you rolled past me at Wheels Day. Looks great in the flesh! Nice to see 1 or 2 others at the show too; I love my Mk.1s!
