With a bit of luck, this will be the last car I'll have to sell for a while. Here's for sale I have my mum's e34 530i. Used as the family's daily until just recently when the tax ran out. She was going to renew the tax and continue to use it, but I've managed to trade my e30 316i Touring for a Jeep Cherokee so she's given me the e34 to do as I see fit. I would keep it for, but I've already talked myself into getting another MK3 Supra, so this has got to go to fund one. It’s a 1994 BMW 530 on an “M” plate. 3.0l M60 V8 Auto 164,000 Miles on the clock 5 owners Mint condition Leather interior 5 spoke Alloy Wheels (haven't seen them before on a e34. They look very smart) Alarm/ immobilizer AC (I *think* although I'll have to double check) Onboard Computer Sun Roof MOT until October No Tax or service history (I did a basic service on it a while back though) I'm hoping for £895, but am open to offers as I want this GONE. Some time this week would be excellent. Based in SE London, croydonish area. Drop me a PM or Email on Joshy.simps@gmail.com if you're interested

Thanks, I think you're right about them being 540 alloys.
What do you think of the price? Too high or is it about fair? I want this gone ASAP as the supra of my dreams has just pop up on ebay with only a week left, so this HAS to go.

You'll struggle to sell it, unless you break it or price it silly low.
Lexus LS400's are going for a pittance, as are all the big engined stuff of this Era. They are fantastic cars, absolutely fantastic, but people are terrified of them cos of the engine size..

Cock.
How low do you reckon I'll have to price it to get moved then?
At this rate the supra might have wait ...

Dunno to be frank... I've got car dealer friends who havent sold stuff in 2 weeks, compared to doing 8-12 cars a week. You might get the right person come along, someone who does only a few miles a week and wants to do it in comfort, so don't give up completely... Can you confirm the MOT? the Oct next year bit makes it sound like its got 15 months test, which isnt very possible ;D I reckon you'd move it fairly fast for <£500... You'll probably find that a diesel 3dr hatch of the same age would sell for more in the current climate.

(Upside is that the Supra seller might be having similar trouble and might drop the price if you play your cards right)

Sorry about the MOT bit, I was relaying the info from my mum and I think she got a little confused. MOT is until Oct 08.
If anyone is reading this and thinking 'maybe', just make an offer, but at £500, I'm probably best off slapping on some 18's and keeping it for myself, I'm certainly not going to find a MK3 in comparable condition for that sort of money.

If you arent planning on doing many miles, the extra cost of fuel isnt really that much of an issue. If you were doing 10k a year in it, it'd probably start to hurt. Gets to a point where its just not worth selling it for so little, you'd have to spend more to get something in worse nick!

I sold a low mileage (96k) 540i without leather and no MOT, for £560 last year, so I don't think £895 is too much to ask as a starting price.

You might get the right person come along, someone who does only a few miles a week and wants to do it in comfort, so don't give up completely... I'd be that person trouble is - V8 maintenance costs scare me. I'm no spanner hero (understatement of the year - I'm actually a liability) so I'm looking at the big six at the moment (m30). It's not as refined as V8 but less chance of things going expensively wrong. Don't mean to rain on your parade, I'm sure you could find a buyer for more than £500, especially if you can wait a few weeks (payday and all that).

lack of history, tax, and only 3 month mot mean this is going to be quite hard to sell at £895, i think your looking at £600 tops

To be absolutely fair... the car is seen by most as (at the minute) a liability. Cracking car, no question but needs FBMSH and t&t Sold a '97 750i couple weeks ago with full history, sat nav, tv, phone, etc. etc. for £1150

Fook it.
I'll probably regret it but, £695 no offers (This is really the lowest I'm going to go) for a quick sale (I mean within the next week).
If I don't have cash in my hand by next monday, it goes upto £795 for the 'long sale' and If I still have no takers by august, I'm keeping it for myself.
*Goes off to look at P.I.M.Ptastic BMW fitment wheels*

If you have no service history, contact BMW with the reg and chassis number and they will be able to give you the build sheet and all the services done by BMW garages throughout its life.

...which would also help as the prospective buyers might be interested in Nikasil issue...

Might be an idea, how much is this service? From what I've read, if the Nikasil issue hasn't effected it at 164k, it's not going to effect it ever. I'm seriously thinking about keeping it for myself now. All the supras in my price range are curse word ;D
