you know its really bad when you see what you think is a black dog running full bore down the pavement as you drive past only to realise as it hits a doorstep and goes skyward that its a white weller wheel that bears a striking resemblance to the other three you have on your mini, which your dad has just done the rear wheel bearings on... (thanks dad! love you really) Had the same on my Mk1 Escy when I did one side brakes and my m8 did tother side!! Managed to find 2 of the nuts so drove home

rust wise my best was the Mk1 Astra GTE, bought for 50 quid because it handled funny. Foot down and it pulled left, let off and it shot right, interesting drive home Had a poke and the front lower arms came off with a large lump of bulkhead still attached Few hours welding sorted that out and loads of fun was had

You know it's not good when you jack your Beetle up to change the rear tyre, using the factory jack and jacking points, but after completing said task realise you can't open the drivers door any more, as the entire heater channel / floorpan edge / running board / quarter panel is now an inch closer to the clouds than it was. Its a known fact you don't use beetle jacking points, even if the car was brand new!

When I bought my Bedford, he told me it "only needs a couple of plates welding behind the headlights, I've done all the rest". Yeah right...... The plate he'd "welded" on the passenger side floor came clean off when I levered one corner with a screwdriver. It was about 18" square too!

You know it's bad when the MOT tester is testing your Land Rover (which you hoped and thought would pass) does 2 pages of fails, and then gives up and sacks you off. That was a bad day.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

I was going to put "You know it's bad when your Mini looks like this on Sunday afternoon and you really need it for work on Monday. But instead, I'm going to say..... You know it's bad when you own a Mini. Full stop.

..this thread makes me feel good about my little bit of wheelarch rust ^^ It's not good when you start to jack up your car, and only the jacking point moves skywards. Hooray for Citroen!
