Been thinking about making a new grille for the Rocco as the Kamei one's are too expensive for me.
I heard somewhere that you can modify a Passat grille to fit, but can't remember where.....? Any ideas on year / how to do it?
Not only that, but surely it can't be that hard to make a Kamei -type grille yourself, can it?

I've no idea what the Kamei grill looks like, but you could always use yours as a starting point, remove all the bars leaving the surround then bond some mesh in from behind. To give it strength, some vertical stiffeners could be put in behind as well and painted black to blend in.

I didn't realise you could remove the bars - interesting! Kamei grille:

Look to the Rocco Mafia section of the No-Rice forum... Chap on there has written detailed instructions for the Passat jobby I think it comes from a E-reg or thereabouts Passat - but good luck finding one in a scrappy 'A Texan's Scirocco site' had instruction for a DIY mesh grille... The Bad News is the site was taken down... The Good News is that the pages are now hosted elsewhere The Bad News is I can't remember where... might be a link on the above No-Rice thread?

I'd leave it as VW intended - Sciroccos in my opinion always seem to look wrong somehow with aftermarket body bits and peices - including the grilles However simply fitting a black 'VW' badge could give it a slightly 'meaner' face

I'm also not a huge fan of 'de-badging' cars...

Yeah the grille spoilers look ok - though I reckon they visually reduce what is already a very 'thin' looking front end, maybe painting it matt/satin black rather than the white of your car would be a good compromise? BTW those wheels (are they Adkit ones?) Really suit the Rocco shape - would look ace if you could get the outer rim part machined or polished

I intend to get the spokes sprayed black and polish the centre and rim. Was also going to get the grille spoiler the same colour / finish as the black bodykit on the GT.

I like the fact that the grille spoiler makes the front look wider/lower (As do the clear indicators) Black ones, unless on a black car of course , can look unfinished. But then I quite like Roccos with colour coded grilles as well
