well after being on here for quite some time I surpose I should show you guys what I am up 2 I am hoping it will be ready for next summer (not getting 2 excited ) because I have other commitments and other cars to run after selling my c20xe ascona to pay for the insurance on my evo I have always regretted letting her go and I wanted another old school vaux/opel so I came accross this while trying to find a 2 door ascona its acctually a viva coupe even tho some one has tryed to tart it up like a firenza so got it up to my wee shed and started stripping her it came apart surprisingly easy so we got her up on her side to see the extent on the tin worm so today I set about cutting out the rot from the passanger side foot well just gonna take it 1 patch at a time but while I was working a freind called up and gave my 2 slot mags 8" x 13 and I had an old capri diff lying about so we stuck them on to get a width measurement they are 68" in total which is about 6" wider than the car so wide arches it is also the donor car can be seen in the background a 1999 vaux omega 2.5 v6 which I bought for £60 yes thats right £60 with an oil cooler problem so next week I am going to see what problems are involved in getting that in originally I had planned to twin turbo it but I have been toying with the idea of a remote turbo but thats whhhaaayyyy down the line so at this point in time I don't know weather to go flat magnum front or firenza droop snoot

Nice concept, look forward to seeing this one develop. Good to see more modern RWD powertrains getting used in projects these days!

like i said it will be a slow project as i have other comitments but it should be good fun i only get a few hours on a sunday at my shed unless i have a day off work
i have thought of buying a kit car pedal box (with the 3 resvoirs) could save me alot of troble with front / rear bias and hydrolic clutch
ill see how the type 9 mate up tho i know omega box will be more relyable

You gotta keep that droop snoot, rarer than poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo.

Just seen this, I love what we used to call Firenza coupe's.
Whichever way you go, it will be great.
Standard front end, subtle paint...... SLEEPER.
Droopsnoot........ ENVY, and loads of questions.
Personally, I would go Droopsnoot. And some lairy colour etc.....
Will be watching this one too.

I would go with the flat front, too many ppl try to make snoot look a likes, be different and make it look more viva.
Another Viva on the cards to be a good one.
Well done on going with the 2.5 V6... its wide but so is the engine bay, just hope its not sat to far forward and makes it handle like a pig
